SITE PURPOSE:

This web site is designed for anyone with an interest in Astronomy.   The information that is contained here is just general information about the topics, but I have included links to other sites with a lot of detailed information.  All of the information was gathered from two  textbooks: Astronomy: From The Earth To the Universe - Fourth Edition, written by Jay M. Pasachoff, copyright 1991 by Saunders College Publishing; and Universe, written by William J. Kaufmann III, copyright 1985  by W.H. Freeman and Company.

WALLPAPER:

These wallpaper images are designed for desktops that have a resolution of 800 x 600.  They are about 1.4 megabytes in size and may take some time to load.  They should be saved to the Windows folder on your computer.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION:

The NASA site that I have linked  to branches out to a lot of useful sites, especially the Jet Propulsion Laboratory site.  They are the division that has been responsible for most of the deep space probes like: Voyager,  Magellan,  GalileoUlysses,  Cassini,  Mars Pathfinder,  Mars Global Surveyor, and  Mars Odyssey that have sent back large amounts of data and pictures of the  planets and their moons.  There are a lot of pictures available for download on these sites.
