Transcendental Meditation - The Location

First thing to do is to find a suitable time and place to meditate, If you're just starting out then you most likely need somewhere fairly quiet and where its unlikely you'll be disturbed. As I mentioned before, I found it easiest to fit in the time by doing 20 minutes in the morning after having breakfast before starting work and 20 minutes at night just before sleeping. It's probably best to take the phone off the hook so you wont be disturbed by incoming calls. It's important that you are not overly sleepy when meditating or you wont get the benefits and will be likely to nod off. For this reason avoid meditating excessively early in the morning or late at night.

If you have a room that is not likely to be used during the periods that you will be meditating this could be a good place.

If you're feeling adventurous you could try outside in the backyard or local park.

Usually its best when first starting out that you meditate where people are unlikely to see you. I say this because if you are a bit self conscious then knowing that people can see you may distract your mind and lead to less effective meditation.
