| The engine: |
| It is situated at the front of the plane and separated from the cabin by a fireproof "wall", also known as a bulkhead. A typical engine generates about 250 horsepower, compared to a typical family car engine, which generates around 60-80 horsepower. |
| The wing: |
| It is made from long, strong rods, called spars. The ribs are curved pieces of metal that give the wing its aerofoil shape allowing it to fly. The wings also contain fuel tanks, which can hold up to 320 litres of fuel. |
