| Throughout time, people have longed to be able
to fly like birds. There are many legends of human fliers and "birdmen".
One of the most famous inventors of all time was the Italian, Leonardo da Vinci
(1452-1519). He designed many machines including flying machines, which relied
on flapping wings. However this type of human powered flight has shown to be
impossible. |
