:: DUEL OF FATES RPG :: MYTHOLOGY OF THE DBZ UNIVERSE The Prophecy Well if you've read the stuff in DBZ Universe, or have ever watched the Dragonball Z anime, you'll have heard about the Saiyan Prophecy - the one that scared Frieza shitless. This is my take on it. Basically it describes the Rebellion (the Stars) rising up to fight against the Empire alongside the new Mountain King i.e. the resurrected Super Saiyan. In case people don�t know Elder Katatsu was the Namek Elder before Guru and fathered the Piccolo we know in the series. Before he died in the cataclysm which befell Namek, he sent Piccolo to Chikyuu (the DBZ world). This is Katatsu's prophecy to the first SuperSaiyan/Monkey/Mountain King. From this blackness came two lights; Senbex, golden order, who was sometimes not one but two, and could be either a beautiful youth or a golden ball of light, and Sasha, black chaos, who's form was light stolen from her brother, or a maiden with silver eyes and flowing black hair. Though they were siblings, they were also two sides of the same coin, and so they fought- for many days and nights, for with their appearence time had begun. As they fought, their blood spattered the void and created worlds. At the end of the universe, their blood fell and combined, and that became the first Vegeta. Senbex touched the world and gave it plants, growing wildly. Sasha touched the world and gave it animals, quick witted beasts. Then she plucked six black hairs from her great head and coated them in her blood. Three took on her form, and three took on her brother's form. The men she named Vegeta, Rameil, and Caithion. The women Senbex named Sontan, Fasha, and Inbex. But because they were of chaos, the new creatures could only fight, and their battle were deadly, because by Sasha's light they were given a new form, one which had no thoughts but for the kill. Senbex, then, took the light from his golden eyes and gave it to the people, creating order around a glob of chaos, and so the twins named them Saiyajin, which means chaotic light. But because he gave his light to the saiyajin, Senbex was forever blinded, and Sasha chained them at the wrist with starfire, so that she might serve as her brother's eyes for all of time. Together they taught their people the way of battle and the way of peace. They became the suns and moon, to forever shine on the planet Vegeta. Saiyans � Akira Toriyama Idea behind Saiyan Mythology � Caith A Brief Summary of the History of Magic Right, so magic has a fairly large role to play in the RPG considering King Kold's hired Seven Sages - each of whom wield a special power/magic - and of course the Dragonballs. The plot revolves around the Rebellion defeating the Seven Sages and bringing down the Icejinn Empire, while Frieza, having already obtained immortality and seeking a God-like status, searches for the Dragonball's origin of magical power. Before Sakumei Ookami was hired by Jeice & Burter (two Ginyu Force members with celebrity status who spy for the Rebellion), she had been working alongside Ma Piccolo, an amateur archaeologist and General for the Rebellion army. Together they discovered a temple on Yunzabit Heights (Chikyuu) which partially explained the history of the Dragonballs and the magic residing within them; a tablet that Piccolo/Kami had left themselves when they first arrived on the planet as a small child. Thousands of years ago the Four Kaios of the North, South, East & West Quadrants decided that to allow magic to exist in the mortal worlds was far too dangerous with the onslaught of the Jedi opressors, the Sith (dark Jedi, like Darth Vader). The Sith combined the Force with magic, with terrible consequences. The Four Kaios also foresaw the coming of the Icejinn Empire and dreaded a prophecy which decreed a fearsome tyrant would bring about the End of High Powers. But certain beings still have the power to wield magic, for example The Seven Sages, The Namek Elders and Caithion Triste's family.  |
