Judgement and Yemma's Gates
King Yemma's Palace lies before the Gates of the otherworld. Like Saint Peter, the giant King Yemma sits before his Book, looking up names and judging the souls of the deceased and decides whether or not they go to the Everlasting lands (Heaven) or down to the sinister Judgement Halls which lie before the Gates of Hell. There, souls are judged by the Jackal headed God of Death, Anubis, who weighs the heart of the dead against a feather. The Level of Hell chosen depends on how the scales balance.
The Seven Hells of Hads
Not much is known about the Seven Hells and the solitary Lord of the Underworld. The Gates of Hell are guarded by the frightful, three headed hound Cerberus and any soul fool enough to try to escape is quickly torn a sunder. The Levels of Hell seemingly run from bad to worse. The first Level of Hell is overlooked by two Ogres, Gozu and Mezu. The third Level of Hell is simply known as the Void. The deepest, darkest Seventh Level of Hell, and unsuprisingly the worst, is Tartarus which is guarded by terrible beasts, including the blind Sphinx and the Ammut, a monster with the head and jaws of a crocodile, body of a lion and hindquarters of a hippopotamus. This savage beast devours the heart of all men cast into Hell.
The Everlasting Lands
"The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver clouds. And then you see it. White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise."
Even less is known of the Everlasting Lands. The grand Timeless Halls and the Kingdom of the Gods grace these planes.
