width-fixer Racing 1990 - 1991

On June 30, 1990 at the Woodburn (OR) Dragstrip, Doc made his childhood dream of becoming a race car driver come true. Afflicted with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis from the age of 2 1/2 years, he had been told all of his life to "Realize your limitations, you will never be able to drive."

But Doc wouldn't accept "You can't." In all aspects of life, he persevered to overcome the challenges that his body presented. He never considered himself "handicapped", he just though of himself as "another guy who wants to go fast." His father always told him, "You can DO anything you want...you just have to figure out HOW." Doc figured it out and made his childhood dream come true.
