Sept 7-8-9 1991 Doc collected enough points to be the 8th (of the 10) Street bracket racers to make the Woodburn Team and compete at the NHRA Division 6 Nationals in Ashcroft, British Columbia. (And now we know why they call it "Beautiful British Columbia"!)
There were about 30 racers competing for the 10 spots on the team. It is a great honor to make the team, as competition is fierce at Woodburn. (Note: The shoe polish sign on the back window says "Going to the Nats. Ashcroft, BC"...it was about an 800 mile journey.)

At the Division Nationals, each track presents it's 50 best racers. There are 16 tracks in Division 6, competing for "Best in the Northwest". The tracks competing came from] Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and 7 tracks from Canada.

Woodburn's Team colors are green and white. Here Doc and I cheer on a teammate.

Waiting in line to race. There's always a lot of waiting. The air was good and the Chicken Coupe was running fast. He finally broke that 14 second mark and ran a new best time of 13.92.

And then on the second run of the second day, Doc lost his transmission.

Although the other racers tried to help, the transmission was unrepairable.
