Thursday April 20, 2000 HAPPY 4.20!!!!!!! Needing a change of pace from the G, sorry, no offense to anyone nor the establishment itself, I did not attend the weekly festivities. So I went to central Jersey to visit friends I have not seen (aka neglected) since December. Drove down to my friend Ed's (and his wife's) place in Edison. Partook in the 4:20 celebrations and then headed over to Rutgers University where Ween was putting on a free concert in some quad. The first outdoor venue of the concert season. The show was great - we caught about 3/5 of it being that I got down there late due to work. First song we heard was Mr. Richard Smoker. A funny tune that just set the night up. They also played crowd favorites: Waving My Dick in the Wind, Junkie Reggae Jew, Fat Lenny, Sorry Charlie, and a whole bunch more. After the show, we went out for drinks to a place called Bazookas. Kind of like a Central Jersey domestic version of Hooters. Played air hockey and had some food and drinks then went home to bed. Long, fun day.
Friday April 21, 2000 Having fun doing something different the night earlier, I got Bryce and Amy to venture into the city for a night on the town. We had a few drinks at the G and went on in to wait for a city friend of mine at the Union Bar. We all met up, and headed over to the Wetlands where Vinyl and members of the Long Beach Allstars were playing. We just got wasted. Plain and simple. Ran into Mike Preziosi, Jen Lewensen (friend from the city) and a coupla kidz from Phish tour. A real fun night with Amy and Bryce that lasted till the early hours of the morning.
Saturday April 22, 2000 Celebrated Easter today with my family at my cousin's house in Martinsville, NJ. Was so beat from the night earlier, that I just kinda ate and sat on the couch with the cousins. But I got my second wind and headed back home to meet up with the others for String Cheese Incident at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Bryce and this time, Mark Polizzi and I went on in to dance are feet off to these guys. Ran into Tony and Dawn again at the same bar as well as some Keller Williams MBers (Audra and Mike). At the show I ran into at least a dozen of the Phish Message Board Crew. It had been awhile - well worth the wait - and got to meet 2 new people from there. The music, scene and overall buzz was great and fulfilling.
Sunday Aprl 23, 2000 Easter Sunday. Ok, I was hertin at this point. Just a mess. Slept till late and through most of dinner (early) which was held at the Garbutt's next door. I show up (showered and dressed nice) but late. Great food but it put me into a food coma. I was just out after that. Nevertheless, we went to the G (Megan, Amy, Bryce I think and Danielle and others - sorry I was sick and don't remember much of this day) and had a few drinks. Well, Ben was working so I basically had to either stay or get a lift with Amy. I got a ride from Amy which was a life saver. Went downstairs and passed out until Monday night. Called in sick for work and let the flu burn out of me. I hate those 48 hours things. |

Thursday April 27, 2000 Yep. Went to the AB&G. Not a huge showing of people this week. But still a large goup. I heard that last Thursday was rediculous with all the people home for the holidays. Oh, I'd like to add that After the String Cheese Incident on Saturday, Bryce, Mark and I made it back for last call at the G. What dedication, huh? Solid group of attendees staying late including old skool Liesel Reidel and Pam Chester. Then, I was suckered into going to Ireland's with Bryce and Amy. None of us should have been there. But I did get to run into 2 old friends, my bud Rodell who now works with the Senator from N. Dakota in DC and my old Mason Jar co-worker, Torva Danielson. So, back to this Thursday. In attendance were Garbs, THE RETURN OF Snider, Caryn, Amy, Polombo, Dani, Kevin, Pete Manke and Rudolph, Parsons-Marangi Crew, Bryce, Fireman Sean and some others. Got some stuff worked out and it was a night of revelation I guess. Whatever that means. Fun night. |
