2.10.2000
Can you say "taking the G by storm"? Wow, everyone showed up tonight and kept the party going on longer than I could handle. Earlier in the day between sessions, I had the opportunity to have dinner with Stiles, Hooks and Snider. We got to talking and brought up some amusing conversation including the Manke/Dad Hooks' nipple fiasco as well some Snider self-effacings. Coach Cohen stopped by to say hello and informed us of an upcoming move to North Carolina. He left and girls brought out the smokes. Funny how we won't smoke in front of certain people still, no? Moving on...The second trip back to the G was a party, excuse me...a Partay. The entire crew was there with cameo appearances by Salina's friends from work, N. Lewy, K. Roland. S. Matri, C. Calabrese, F. Rotella, Mara and Merritt, S. Edwards, K. Ducey, P. Rudolph, and a very rare appearance by Amy Matri. A bit sarcastic today am I. Sorry Am. Who else...If I forgot someone, sorry. Discussions included everything from dressing like an Easter egg (don't take it seriously Cindy) other slips and falls on ice or due to drinking alcohol (who us?) or both, and I say other because of Snider's most recent slide down Main Street Allendale. (What the hell is the name of that street anyway? DeMercurio? Je ne sais pas.) Dancing ensued with the good ol Jackson Triumvirate (PYT, Billy Jean and that "Hush Hush" one - whatever its called.). A dance contest unfolded with Amy and Pete declaring themselves winners. Having run into the little green man (only once, thank god, for me thanks to Jim) I became officially buzzed. Jager was present on quite a few people's palates that evening. Again, no surprise that El Capitain (Snides) partook. Note: Partook is an example of poetic license. So that is all for now. I am still a bit schloshy from last night and forget a few important facts. I'm sure I'll get emails or something reminding me later. Gotta jiboo. |

What started out as an easy going evening turned into a really fun night. It was local guy Nick's birthday, Danielle returned to the scene, and then a dirty little game of I Never ensued with Charlie and another patron listening in on us. We were kinda loud. Then went downstairs to bring the place to its feet with a little PYT and other staple music selections. |

Well, I got to the G first this evening despite stopping at the Catwalk in the city for a few drinks with coworkers. I make a bee line from the train to the G, order dinner and get greeted by Stiles. Other patron in attendance included Cindy, Salina, Jager (he's that funny green guy), the recent Chubb graduate Bryce, Amy, Polombo, Mark Polizzi and going 2 for 3 for the week - Jim Bounassi as well as a visit from Trae and Pat Crean. Others nearby included Alex, Ducey and Karen Carnevale. From what I could tell, a mini-version of the Jager room was going on as far as topics (pet peeves, etc.). I remember Polizzi mentioning something about seeing the red strings in Band Aid wrappers as being one. The big thing was not who was there but who wasn't. El Capitain, also known as Pleasure and more commonly referred to as Snider was MIA. Missing in Allendale - unless she can tell us of some other Action. After a long night on Wednesday, I needed to go easy. Only 3 drinks for me. So there ya go. |

Monday night. What better way to start the week than with a drink at the G. But since the bar doesn't open until after I get to work - I'll settle for a post-work drink. Ok, a few post-work drinks. I picked up Snider after the Seton Hall game and cruised on down to meet up with Cindy and Sue. Jager paid a quick visit - ran into Jen a few times later that night and then had to say goodbye. Salina and Bryce soon showed up. We talked about a few things including mishaps at the bar and a Sleaze survey that was passed around via email that day. Bryce took a break from "painting his room" for "one drink" and bet against some guy with perpindicular teeth (not really, but it sounds funny) that Hillary will not win the NY State Senate seat. Jen wooed us with her sports authority and ranked on the same guy who bet Bryce Hillary would win - he apparently went to Syracuse and his dad went to Seton Hall. Whatever. The night ended early but not before Snider could get a free Jack and Coke (finished with such aplomb by the way) and then leaving her bag at the bar. Not to be outdone - and gaining extra points on the sleaze survey, Jen totally wiped out tring to get into my car. Brava! And that was Monday at the G. Up next...(drumroll). Tuesday at the G.Maybe, the cards are unclear. |

2.7.2000 Weekend Recap
Brunch went into full swing again this weekend. I happened to arrive before they even opened the doors. Really needed that Bloody Mary. Trae and Jen showed up, Bryce soon followed and then Snider. Stiles and Hooks also added the late brunch crowd. The B. Mary's were the best yet (ask for them to make it not using the mix) and the food was greeted with hungry stomachs. Apparently I have 2 stomachs. Friday night was a split evening. Some went to the Bacari Grill while others went to the G and then on to Cosmic Bowling. Saturday was the Neutronic Gig show. Bryce drove us in (Trae and Jen, JR, and Mark) and apparently Trae drove home. The night included some so-so pizza, outdoor bathrooms, parking problems, lounging around upstairs, scoring from a Rasta, the designated stank corner, mingling with other Sod fans (Chris Ulickis' girlfriend, etc) and of course dancing to the (unfortunately short) set of Neutronic Sod and 8 cups of coffee for Trae.Yikes. Sunday, as I mentioned was brunch. Then I went to see my sister's last swim meet for Highlands. At home, I took a nap around 5:30 and woke up at 7:15 this morning. Some nap. |
