In an effort to avoid a week long stretch at the AB&G, Cindy got us to go to the Bacari Grill. Quite honestly - I was under the impression of having dinner a drink or two and then taking me home so I could catch up on some sleep, avoid spending more money and preparing myself for the Neutronic Sod show on Saturday. Didn't happen. Arriving at the Bacari Grill was similar to a strange dream where people who share no logical connection are all in on it. Such was the case with the Bruinooges, Scott the bartender (friends of Dave Otterby) some other jerk of a bartender from AB&G past as well as a waitress I couldn't remember but recognized and most importantly Steve - Cindy's ex-boyfriend who is a manager there. Steve was kind enough to buy us a round of Pinot Grigio - I stuck with Capt. and Coke. I ate the Cream of Sweet Potato with carmalized onions and a Caesar salad. Both were excellent, the soup being much more than I expected in taste, thickness and size. One large soup for a remarkably cheap $5. We continued to have some drinks, Sue and I were begged to join in on the small dance floor by a tipsy couple and then the fun began. Cindy was talking to Steve when Steve's current girlfriend walked in. I wouldn't quite call it fun, but the tension was there. Cindy left satisfied and we met up minutes later at the Orange Lantern to listen to the cover band, The Wisemen, play 80s and 90s tunes. I, tired, wanted to leave so we soon did - heading back to Cindy's to crash. A fun night.
