I happen to be Catholic. And, to be honest, there are some "blind faith" things that are supposed to be common to all Christians that the scientific/skeptical part of me can not comprehend. I'm working on it, though. In any case, I don't think the main point of Catholicism is all the "magical" stuff, and I DEFINITELY don't think that the Bible is meant to be taken literally. When you wait hundreds or thousands of years (or half a century to a century, like was true of the gospels) before you write a story down, there are going to be some stretched truths. And there's nothing wrong with that. As long as the main point comes through.
I believe that main point is acceptance, if not love, for all people, no matter what they look like or worship or what their political ideology might be. One of the main issues I have with this planet is that so few people are willing to accept that they don't have all the answers.
I would never say that everyone should be Catholic or Christian, because I honestly don't believe that. Be Muslim. Be Jewish. Be Wiccan. Join the Church of Satan (note: true satanists do NOT worship Satan. They worship themselves). Join whatever church will make you want to lead a more fulfilling life. Or, if you want, be atheist. It's your right as a human being, because human beings were given free will. And I don't think God will punish us for our beliefs; just our actions.
Point made. Do whatever you want. Just accept that YOU are not God and hence YOU do not have all the answers. So stop trying to push your beliefs on other people and just work on bettering yourself.
