A - Technically, The Bahamas lies in the Atlantic Ocean and not the Caribbean Sea. However, economically The Bahamas belongs to various Caribbean organizations, such as Caricom (Caribbean Community).


Q - Is The Bahamas a state of the USA or is it a colony of Great Britain?

A - Neither. The Bahamas has been an independent country since July 10, 1973.


Q - Does The Bahamas have modern facilities such as electricity, indoor plumbing etc.?

A - Yes. The caveman days of the country are long gone. Such is life.


Q - What is the currency of the country and how strong is it?

A - The Bahamian dollar is the monetary currency used. Its value is almost on par with the United States dollar (fractional difference).

A - Yes, it does. It rains throughout the year with the rainy months being May-October.
