Antonia on the CBR

Bikes give you an amazing feeling of freedom. My favorite category is Super Sport. They have the best performance and handling. Of course they are not the most comfortable to ride.

The bike on the left, pictured with Antonia, is my first one. It is a Honda CBR 400 RR (Gull Arm). These bikes were very popular in Japan due to driver license restrictions. They were produced between 1988 and 1999. In countries like Great Britain and Greece they are known as "gray imports" (second-hand).

Compared to the 900 RR, the 400 RR has many similar features; many of them were applied long before they were adopted by the "big brother" including gear-driven cams, aluminum frame, fully adjustable forks, 4-piston calipers, a 17-inch front wheel and 15,000 rpm redline. For training purposes the horsepower can also be restricted to 33 Hp.

CBR 600 FS

This is my second motorcycle. It's a 2003 Honda CBR 600 FS. Although not an RR, this bikes has programmable injection, 110 horse power, fully adjustable forks, quite exhaust system, a very comfortable driving position and even a big seat for the passenger. This makes it ideal for long trips. Beyond the power, the bikes has ample torque so that the driver doesn't have to change gears all the time.

On the down side, it's high-tech equipment requires service and repairs only from the experts making its maintenance very costly. The brakes stop the bike very quickly but it longer wheelbase makes it less maneuverable in traffic. This bike was definitely designed for the open road.

This is many bikers' dream, the Honda VTR SP 2. It is one of the best motorcycles that Honda has ever produced.  Much of its breakthrough technology comes directly from racing. Its 999cc V-engines produces 136 hp at 10,000 rpm and 10.2 Kgm of torque at 8,000.
