She married George Thomas Sleggs and had one child, Mabel Darling Sleggs in 1885. They lived on "Darling Farm" in Geneseo, and according to the 1917 Livingston Farm Directory, they grew primarily wheat and beans on their land. Nellie died in 1925.
Georgia thinks that Nellie may have been dabbling in genealogical research, since she found a letter from Carlos P. Darling from Lawrenceville, PA addressing possible Revolutionary War connections. See the letter here.
