| Shaolin White Crane Gongfu in 1994 and continued to dedicate himself to that particular discipline until college. While enrolled at St.Louis University, Mr. Joyce co-founded the Martial Arts Club, began studying the art of classical fencing and Chen Style Hunyuan Taijiquan. It was at this point that Mr. Joyce began to construct and teach his system of Self Defense (Women's Self Defense). After college, Michael Joyce traveled to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to study with one of the world's best Taiji masters, Chen "Joseph" Zhonghua. Through Master Chen, Mr. Joyce was certified to teach both the Chen Style Practical Method (of Grandmaster Hong Junsheng) and Hunyuan Taijiquan (of Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang). Over the years, Michael has trained with other notable masters such as: Master Yang Yang, Wang Fengming, Herb Parran, Dale Stacey, Zhu Tian Cai, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, and UFC middleweight champion Frank Shamrock. Michael Joyce is the owner & operator of CFHTJ, or "ChenCenter" in Winston-Salem, North Carolina & has been teaching professionally since 2002. Mr. Joyce published his first book, The Golden Thread in Oct. 08' and is currently working on several book, dvd and audio projects. |

| Boyd Bailey is a NC State Licensed and nationally board-certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist practicing in Winston Salem since 1997. Boyd began playing Taijiquan 12 years ago, studying Yang Style with senior students of Tao Ping-Siang in Seattle, WA. Qigong, Daoyin, and Tuina were an integral part of his acupuncture training, which informs both his clinical work and Taijiquan practice. Boyd began Chen Style Taijiquan in 2003 with Joyce Laoshi, and has completed the requirements of instructorship (CFHTJ) curricullum of Chen Shi Xinyi Hunyuan Taijiquan of GM Feng & Chen Style Practical Method of GM Hong.
