| It is with great pleasure that I announce that I shall spend more time instructing privately in classical, french-style fencing. Since the 2008 Olympics there has been an influx of interest in swordplay; a love that I aquired when I was very young, but saddly only got nourish in my college and post-college days. | -Each student is marked during class sessions on: listening & observation, motivation/willingness, and noticeable improvement by the coach and will be noted by numerically and by "stars." Points are awarded per lesson (Jan.2009). This will be displayed under MOD. -Records are recorded during our Free Exchange meetings at Reynolda Gardens. Students, please look beyond your record and more on improving your fencing for the next bout. The more bouts you do, the better fencer you will become (as long as you continue to learn from your experience & continue to practice. Also, due to the difference in student ages, height, and experience levels, records will serve as a marker for improvement. -Last Bout: This is a scoring of your last bout. For example= W 03-02(5) means, WIN. 3 touches out of 5 |

| -During our Free Fencing Exchanges, participants ages 9-14 are welcomed to engage in friendly play with myself and my students. Participants must wear protective goggles, and must be under close supervision by their parent(s)/guardian(s). Bouting is done one-at-a-time and judged by Miastro Joyce. I expect participants to use the same level of sportsmanship that I instruct in my students. Play safe,& play happy. |
