The Center for Hunyuan Taiji's Wushu program is designed to coach individuals in the basic elements of the standardized form (Cha Quan-Hua Quan). | The term wushu (pronounced "woo-su") means martial techniques and is the correct chinese term in speaking of the sport and hobby of martial arts in terms of common language. Modern, or Contemporary Wushu pertains to the more acrobatic and dance-like artform. Traditional Wushu on the other hand, are divided into different schools (i.e. Mantis, Tiger, Wing Chun, etc). While MODERN WUSHU still incorporates the Shaolin styling... the forms have been revised from traditional forms by combining the elegance of Peking Opera, gymnastics and acrobatics.
