| A girl is killed in Istanbul by robed people. Buffy teaches Dawn to fight vampires. She tells Dawn that it's not about who has the stake but who has the power and that is the vampire despite the vampire saying he is stuck and can't get out of his grave. Buffy steps in save Dawn as the two dread the next few months. Sunnydale High School is reopened. In England Willow tells Giles that she doesn't want to have powers anymore, she just wants to be Willow. Xander shows Buffy that the Hellmouth is now under the principal's office and Buffy gives Dawn a mobile phone. At school Buffy goes with her to check out any danger. They meet the new principal who then mistakes Buffy for Dawn's mum and Buffy is upset that she looks old. Buffy goes in the bathroom. Disfigured people appear saying she couldn't save her and then disappear. Buffy rushes into Dawn's class yelling about the ghosts and embarrasses Dawn. Dawn is in class and a guy asks for a pencil. When she hands it to him he turns into a disfigured person and stabs her with the pencil. Dawn shrieks and everyone stares at her as the person has disappeared. She goes to the bathroom. Buffy bumps into the principal and they talk. Dawn finds a girl, Kit in the bathroom who has also seen the ghosts. The ghosts appear and the two fall through the ground into the basement. In England Willow senses something evil in the earth. Anya's demon friend tells her that they've noticed her failure in work and that an something is coming, something old. Dawn and Kit are scared by the ghosts who chase them. They meet a guy who also say them while down here smoking. Dawn uses her phone to call Buffy. Dawn and the others are trapped by ghosts. Buffy goes down and surprisingly finds an insane Spike. He tells her that the ghosts are summoned by a charm. Buffy leaves Spike and calls Xander to break a charm that she found in the bathroom. Buffy fights with the ghosts to save Dawn. Xander breaks the charm and the ghosts disappear. The principal offers Buffy a job as the counsellor since he saw her get Kit and the others to socialize so well. Meanwhile in the basement Spike sits as someone talks to him. It is Warren who mocks him about his soul, Warren then turns into Glory, Adam, the Mayor, Drusilla, the Master. They all tell him that the next months are going to be interesting and that he still doesn't understand his part in this. The Master turns in Buffy and says that it's not about good or evil, it's about power. | |

| Another girl in Germany is killed by the robed people. After she is killed, she turns over and says 'From beneath you, it devours.' Buffy wakes up from the dream, shaken. Outside, the ground cracks and moves as something moves underneath it. Spike is screaming in the basement as the whole place shakes. Next day, Buffy goes to her first day as the school counselor. Far away, Willow is unsure about returning to Sunnydale, afraid that the gang won't accept her. Giles convinces her to return since she will be needed. Meanwhile, a girl called Nancy is walking her dog, when it is suddenly pulled underground. A monster rises out of the ground. The girl runs off and bumps into Xander who takes her to Buffy's house. Buffy remembers her dream, just as Spike walks in, shocking everyone. He says that he's just here to help. Xander and Dawn are against this idea, but Buffy takes him along to check out the place the dog disappeared. Buffy is nervous and demands to know why Spike is back. Spike evades her questions and says sorry to her for what he's done. Meanwhile, Xander and Nancy walk home. They start to flirt a little just as the rumbling sound travels towards them. A hole bursts out of the ground, knocking them to the ground. Nancy contemplates how horrible her life is, mentioning her boyfriend who's psycho. Xander starts thinking that her boyfriend might have summoned the demon to attack her since, she was attacked by the same monster twice. Then she mentions a wish she made and Xander realizes this is Anya's work. Elsewhere, Anya is chatting with another scorned customer, when interrupted by the gang who confront her about it. Anya refuses to reverse the wish. Anya then notices Spike's soul, able to see it since she's demon. Spike stops her before she spills by breaking out a fight. Buffy steps in and fights against Spike who starts taunting her. Nancy runs off and is chased by the worm demon. Xander pleads to Anya to reverse the spell, but Anya is afraid of displeasing D'Hoffryn and her demon friends. Nancy is just about to be eaten when Buffy saves her. The worm demon rises in front of her and Spike appears with a metal spear like pole. He stabs it into the demon just as the spell is reversed and the worm becomes human again. Spike sees what he's done and starts ranting like a maniac. He foretells the forth coming destruction and 'From beneath you it devours' before running off. Buffy helps the man as Nancy runs off. Xander takes care of the man while Anya sees what she's done. Buffy goes after Spike to a crypt. He continues to rant. Buffy eventually figures out that Spike has gotten his soul back. Shocked, she watches as Spike continues mumbling about being forgiven and loved. He then rest his body against a stone cross, asking for forgiveness. | |

Willow returns. The gang wait for her at the airport but never see her. Willow gets off the plane nervous and even more disappointed when there is no one to pick her up. Willow goes home to look for the gang but find no one and falls asleep on the couch. The gang return home wondering where Willow is or if she split. Willow wakes up still not seeing the gang and goes to the Magic Box. She finds Anya who is packing up the Magic Box for good. They catch up. After asking Anya, Willow heads for the construction site where Xander should be. Xander shows Buffy something at the construction site. Willow sees a dead body whose skin has been stripped off. Buffy and Xander stare at the body afraid to suspect that Willow may have gone bad again. Willow goes to the new school and meets insane Spike. Buffy and Xander ask Spike if he knows anything. Spike talks with Willow then turns around to talk to Buffy. However Willow can't see either Buffy or Xander and vice versa. Only Spike seems to be able to see both of them. Willow with the help of Anya finds the cave that the demon that killed the man is living in. Buffy, Xander and Dawn find that it is a Gnarl demon and enlist Spike's help to track the smell of blood. They go the the same cave as Willow. They are all in there and the demon attacks Dawn and with its powers paralyzes her. Buffy and Xander drag Dawn out of there and block the cave to trap the monster. And Willow. Unknowingly Willow is trapped inside and paralyzed by the monster who begins to do the same thing that he did to the man. Willow watches as he slowly eats at her skin and it taunts her that her friends abandoned her in here. Buffy and Xander leave Dawn at home and enlist Anya's help. There Anya tells them that Willow is here but they are confused. Buffy kills the demon while Anya tries to help the injured Willow. Buffy and Xander can't see her but try to communicate and comfort her. Anya tells Willow that Buffy and Xander didn't abandon her and that they are right here. Realising how much her friends love her still the spell wears off and they can see her again. Back at home, Willow explains that she must have subconsciously did the spell to avoid her friends. Buffy and Willow catch up and hug as Willow recovers. |

Buffy is working at school listening to some students. Working as a counselor sure is hard especially when a student asks her out. She then talks with a troubled student Cassie. When they start talking about her future Cassie tells her she has none because she knows she's going to die this Friday afternoon. Shocked Buffy tries to get more information and help thinking that someone is hurting Cassie or she might commit suicide, but Cassie rushes off. Before she rushes off Cassie tells Buffy to put a sweater on her shirt or it'll get stained. She also mumbles some riddles about coins. After that Buffy goes worried to principal. When Buffy realizes there is not much she can do she gets frustrated and spills her coffee on her shirt. Buffy suspects that Cassie may have visions of the future. Dawn is recruited by Buffy to investigate. Cassie is asked out by a guy but refuses knowing she won't make it to the dance. Dawn befriends Cassie. The gang are searching on the internet about Cassie and come across her site filled with depressing poems. Buffy suspects that her alcoholic father may be the one that'll hurt her. Dawn is convinced that the guy Cassie rejected is the one. Buffy goes to the father but he is not involved. She confronts Cassie pleading for her to help them to save her. Cassie cries saying that she doesn't want to die but she knows it will happen. She doesn't know how or when but it will happen. Meanwhile a group of hooded figures walk in circle around a fire burning pictures of Cassie. Desperate Buffy asks Spike for help but he doesn't know anything. She confronts the guy that Cassie rejected but he seems to have gotten over it and is asking Dawn. It is Friday. Locker searches reveal one opening spilling out weird coins. Buffy confronts the student who then tells her the truth. After school Dawn walks with Cassie trying to keep watch over her. Dawn is distracted by a cute guy and Cassie disappears. In a dark room the hooded figures sit. Cassie is dragged in by the leader. He is about to make the sacrifice that raises a demon who will then reward them with wealth. One figure stands up to reveal it is Buffy. She fights the school boys until the demon arrives. Spike jumps in to help. The demon is killed leaving the leader wondering if he still gets his riches. Buffy walks with Cassie happy that she was able to save her. When they reach Buffy's office a arrow is set off and Buffy catches it before it hits Cassie. Cassie is shocked and comments that Buffy will save a lot of people. She then collapses on the floor. She is dead and the prophecy fulfilled. The gang sit mourning. Buffy explains that Cassie family had a history of heart irregularities but Cassie never knew. Buffy realizes that Cassie would have died one way or another. Buffy wonders what do you do when you know you can't help someone. Next day Buffy continues on with her job. |

| Eons ago- Aud sits happily with her lover Olaf. Present- In a frat house lies 12 frat boys with their hearts ripped out and in a corner sits Anya staring at the blood. Willow is back in school and meets Anya coming from the frat house. Willow notices blood on Anya's wrist. Investigating Willow finds the bodies and a girl crying. She says that the guys played a joke on her and she said she wished they could all feel how it is like to have their hearts ripped out. She says that a spider did it and points behind Willow. Willow uses magic to block the spider's attack and throws it out. She calls Buffy to kills it. Buffy and Xander hunt it down. Eons ago- Aud watches as the village chase Olaf who has been turned into a troll. D'Hoffryn appears saying he is pleased and offers Aud or Anyanka the job as a vengeance demon. Present-They soon find out that Anya was responsible. The gang are soon in a fight. Buffy resolves that she must kill Anya while Xander pleas that he can talk to her. Xander rushes off to talk to Anya. Buffy follows with a sword. Worried Willow rushes to perform a spell to summon D'Hoffryn for help. Hundred years ago- Anyanka sits with Halfrek. Anyanka explains to Halfrek that vengeance is her job and who she is. Present- Xander is pushed aside as Buffy and Anya fight. Anya is eventually stabbed with the sword by Buffy. 2001- Anya secretly sings a song about being Mrs Xander Harries. Present- Anya is still alive and pulls the sword out and they fight. They are blown apart when D'Hoffryn arrives. He says that he will give Anya a decision. Anya replies that she wants to take back the wish. To bring back the lives of the 12 frat boys. D'Hoffryn tells her that there is a price- the life and soul of a vengeance demon. Xander protests but Anya is resolved. D'Hoffryn grants her wish. Halfrek appears suddenly just to be burnt alive. Shocked Anya asks why D'Hoffryn didn't take her life. He tells her that her time will come 'From beneath you it devours.' Anya walks out and Xander follows. Anya tells him that she doesn't know who she is anymore. | |

| Spike moves in with Xander. Again. Next day, Buffy and Dawn are sitting. Dawn complains that she doesn't understand how people fall in love. Just at that moment she spots a quarterback wearing a letterman's jacket. She gapes in admiration, instantly smitten before falling over. Elsewhere, Buffy slays an assassin demon sent by D'Hoffryn after Anya. Dawn tries to strike up conversation with RJ, the popular quarterback but fails miserably. Then, in an attempt to join the 'cool' crowd, Dawn tries out for cheerleader in Buffy's old uniform. Just as she's cheering about RJ, she falls over flat on her face while RJ laughs. At home, Dawn is crying over what happened. Buffy is concerned but Dawn is convinced that it is true love. Next day, Dawn is angry when a guy replaces RJ's spot on the team. The guy bags out RJ and in a fit of fury she shoves him down the stairs. Both Buffy and Principal Wood think it was an 'accident'. Dawn hooks up with RJ at the Bronze later. The gang are there and see a skimpy girl dancing with RJ, dirtily. Buffy is horrified to recognize the skimpy girl as Dawn and orders her to go home and put some clothes on. Dawn is annoyed but leaves and gets in a catfight with RJ's ex. Next day, Buffy lectures RJ about leading girls on when he puts on his letterman's jacket. Buffy instantly changes and becomes smitten. Later, Buffy tells Dawn that RJ said that she came on too strong. Dawn decides to back off, leaving RJ all to Buffy. Next day, Buffy pulls RJ out of class and into another classroom. The two start to make out. Dawn is looking for RJ and is horrified to find Buffy and RJ making love. She tells Xander who pulls both love-smitten Buffy and Dawn home. Both girls are convinced that they are in love. Willow researches into how to break this love spell. They find RJ's brother. Spike and Xander look him up and find that the once hunky footballer is now a lazy pizza deliverer. They discover that the love spell is linked to the letterman's jacket that was passed down through his family. Meanwhile, RJ come to Buffy's house. Anya and Willow both answer the door and are smitten as well. The four females argue over who loves RJ the most and decide ways to show it. Anya goes off and robs the bank. Willow does a spell to change RJ into a girl. Buffy decides to kill Principal Wood. But Dawn is left depressed knowing she can't compare to the Slayer, a witch and an ex-demon. She goes and lies on the railway track. Xander and Spike return to stop Willow in mid-spell. Spike manages to steal the bazooka that Buffy was aiming at Wood. The four then try to find Dawn and see her lying in the tracks with an oncoming train nearing. Buffy manages to race there in time and pull her off the tracks. She manages to talk some sense into Dawn who wanted to commit suicide in order to prove that her love for RJ was infinite. Later, Xander and Spike steal RJ's jacket and burn it. Xander confesses to trying it on but it was too small. The gang then asks Anya what she did to prove her love. Just then, the nightly news comes on about a mysterious cat burglar. Anya switches it off quickly and changes the topic. | |

| Everyone is a different place, Buffy is patrolling, Dawn is home alone, Willow is studying in the library, Spike is at the Bronze and it seems Jonathon and Andrew are back in town. Buffy greets a newly risen vampire who turns out to be an old classmate called Webs. New to being a vampire Webs and Buffy have a heartfelt catch up. Dawn is pigging out and watching TV. Jonathon and Andrew discuss coming back and how they have to destroy it so they'll stop having the dreams. Buffy confesses to Webs about her relationship troubles with men. Webs a psych major listens to Buffy. Dawn meanwhile hears an odd thumping sound when the door flies open and a storm blows through. She closes the door and comes back to find that all the radios and televisions in the house have suddenly turned on. Willow is shocked when Cassie walks up saying she has a message from Tara. The Nerd Duo sneak into the school and split up. Andrew then turns around to talk to Warren who is seemingly a ghost now. Andrew and Warren seem to have a scheme behind Jonathon's back. Buffy and Webs eventually fight but stop again to talk about Buffy's troubles. Dawn tries to turn of the television and even pulls the plug but it is still on. In fear she smashes it and all the devices. When approaching the last one, a radio, it crackles and Joyce's voice calls out to Dawn. Willow talks through Cassie to Tara and pours out all her feelings when Tara died. Spike is at the bar and chats with a girl. The Nerd Duo get to the basement and begin digging. Dawn is desperately trying to contact her mother through the radio. The house lights flash and Dawn catches glimpses of her mother on the couch being strangled by something. Dawn uses a spell to try to expel the creature who is hurting her mother. Buffy confesses to Webs that she feels superior to her friends but at the same time she feels like she's beneath them. The Nerd Duo have dug up a mystical looking seal in the ground. Andrew then stabs Jonathon while Warren encourages him from behind. Jonathon's blood flows around on the seal. Spike walks the girl home. Cassie tells Willow that she and Tara can see her path into the future and that Willow will kill everyone. Shocked Willow says that she isn't using dark magic anymore. Cassie says that she can not use any magic at all, not even white magic. Willow is confused and asks if there is another way. Cassie reveals there is another way, if Willow kills herself. Alarmed Willow realizes that Tara would never say that and that this wasn't Cassie. Dawn battles the creature using the spell and eventually kills it. Buffy talks about her last boyfriend and mentions Spike. Webs then reveals that he knows Spike too, Spike was his sire. Spike meanwhile vamps out and drinks the girl. Dawn watches as Joyce appears in a white light. Joyce warns her that when things get bad, Buffy will be against her. Confused Dawn watches as Joyce disappears. Willow demands to know who she is. Cassie then reveals that when the day comes she will make they all die. Willow realizes that Cassie is talking about 'from beneath it devours.' Then Cassie corrects her, not it, me. Cassie then morphs and disappears. Buffy dusts Webs in astonishment from what he just told her. | |

| Buffy goes to Xander's but Spike is gone. Elsewhere, Spike is humming to himself why burying a dead girl. London, England - A Watcher finds the body of his dead Potential and is stabbed by the hooded figures as well. Sunnydale - Willow finds Dawn, who starts rambling about Joyce's appearance earlier that night. Willow tells Dawn that she saw someone too, but it was a trick. Meanwhile, Spike returns in the middle of Xander and Buffy's discussion about him. Buffy mentions Holden Webster, but Spike has no reaction. Next morning, Anya is assigned to watch Spike as Xander leaves to work. Buffy returns home to find the living wrecked. Willow tells Buffy that Dawn is alright and about each of their experiences last night. Later, Anya sneaks into Spike's room, while he is sleeping, to look for clues that he is feeding again. She's caught but makes up an excuse. After sunset, Spike goes out. Anya calls Buffy to let her know. Spike walks through a crowded park and shops. A man is playing a song, which Spike starts humming to. Buffy watches Spike who starts flirting with a girl. He takes her into an alley. Buffy appears and tells Spike to bite the girl, which Spike does. Afterwards, he's horrified and runs off. Buffy morphs into Spike and smiles. Later, Buffy confronts Spike about the girl. Spike angrily denies it but confesses that he doesn't remember much of what happens when he goes out. Next day, the gang are researching and discover an increase of missing girls. That night, Spike goes out again. He finds a packet of cigarettes in his pocked and has a vague flashback to the girl he killed in Conversations With Dead People. Xander tries to stop Spike but is knocked out. At the Bronze, Spike asks people if they remember the girl he was with and what happened to her. Meanwhile, Buffy hears from Xander that Spike went out. Back at the Bronze, a girl starts hitting on Spike. She's a vampire and reveals that he sired her the other night. Spike is horrified and the two start fighting; Spike stakes her. Meanwhile, Buffy asks the bouncer at the Bronze about Spike and learns that Spike has been here every night, each time with a different girl. Spike calls Buffy from the inside of the Bronze and tells her that he's starting to remember things. He asks her to meet him at a house. Buffy and Spike go into the cellar where a Spike-double starts taunting him, even though Buffy can't see the double. Spike ignores the double and confesses that he thinks he killed all those girls and buried them here. The Spike-double starts singing the same tune that the man was playing the night before. Suddenly Spike vamps out and starts attacking Buffy; becoming animalistic. The girls he killed start to rise out of the ground, as vampires. They subdue Buffy. Spike tastes her blood, but when he does, he suddenly remembers everything; all the people he killed and buried here. He's horrified and is himself again Buffy dusts the vampires. She confronts Spike, who is rambling about the Spike-double singing. Spike asks for Buffy's help. Later, the gang discuss what to do with Spike. Buffy suspects that the same evil that has been toying with them has been toying with Spike too; causing him to feed again and driving him insane. England - Giles finds the dead Potential and the stabbed Watcher, who tells Giles to "gather them". Just then, a hooded figure sneaks up behind Giles and swings a scythe at his head. | |

| It seems that Jonathon didn't have enough blood and Andrew will have to find more for the sacrifice. Warren and Jonathon reassure Andrew that he hasn't done anything wrong. Buffy ties up Spike and calls the Watcher's Council since Giles hasn't returned any of her calls. The Watcher's Council seems to know something. Dawn tells Principal Wood that Buffy is sick today. Willow goes to the butcher's to get Spike some blood. Warren watches exasperated as Andrew chases a sacrificial pig around the room. Andrew then goes to the butcher's instead to get the rest of the blood. There he bumps into Willow who chases his. The two have a 'I'm the big bad' speech showdown and eventually Willow drags him back to the gang. They interrogate him about why he needed so much blood. Meanwhile Buffy and Spike talk about how he got his soul back. Anya and Xander manage to make Andrew crack. Xander scares Andrew with stories of how Anya really hates men until Andrew is crying for mercy. Buffy goes to check up on Andrew and goes back to Spike when she hears him talking to someone and singing. When she goes in the room he denies everything. When she turns her back Spike escapes and punches through the wall to attack Andrew who was finally spilling the plans of everything. They subdue Spike and save Andrew. Meanwhile Principal Wood goes down into the basement and disposes of Jonathon's body. The gang think that Spike may be a sleeper agent and the song is a trigger that turns him into a killer. Buffy chains Spike in the basement. Spike tries to convince Buffy to stake him but Buffy tells him that she believes in him. Suddenly they are attacked by robed fighters. Buffy runs up to check on the others who are also being attacked. The gang manage to fight of the intruders but soon discover that Spike has been kidnapped while they were fighting. However Andrew is still safe. Buffy recognizes the fighters as the Harbringers, priests for the First. The Watcher's Council seems to be suffering heavy casualties due to the new big bad who they know is the First. Travers begins to gather up all the Watchers for a big meeting at the Council headquarters to discuss a strike back against the new evil. However the whole Watcher's Council is blown up right then. Spike is tied up in the basement by the Harbringers who make cuts in him. The First then explains that he'll just have to use Spike's blood for the ritual and Spike begins to bleed on the seal. The First turns into Buffy and then introduces Spike to a real vampire. Spike's blood opens up the seal and a vampire like creature rises. | |

| The gang research on the First but Buffy eventually nods off. In her dream her mother is there and tells her to rest. When she wakes up Willow uses magic to try to find out about the First. Suddenly the spell explodes and Willow is possessed by the First who attacks Buffy. Xander breaks the spell just in time. Andrew wakes up and shows them the seal. They bury it and Buffy bumps into Principal Wood in the basement. They both make excuses then walk off. Buffy decides to head out and find the First but is shocked when she find Giles on her doorstep. With three Slayers In Training. Inside Giles tells them that the Watcher's Council has been destroyed and the First is out to kill all the SITs and eventually Buffy and Faith. That night Giles and Buffy go out to check the place that Buffy saw the First the last time. In a cavern she goes alone and finds the uber vampire that came out of the seal. After a hard fight she stakes it. To her horror he just pulls it out. She runs out of the cave just in time. Meanwhile Spike is tortured by the uber vampire while the First as Drusilla tries to tempt him to their side. She goes home to find the SITs camped at her home. Giels tells her that the uber vampire is the Neanderthal of the normal vampires. At work Buffy falls asleep. Her mother is in her dream and warns that Buffy can't defeat this evil. It's everywhere and it's in all of them. Buffy wakes up to find a student staring at her. She has a chat with Principal Wood. The First fails to lure Spike to their side and asks why. he replies because Buffy believes that he can be good. That night Buffy and the SITs are all suited up knowing that the uber vampire will come right for them when the sun sets. Giles has a talk with Buffy saying that they're all depending on her. Convinced that she'll be okay she soon finds out that one of the SITs Annabel has split in fear. Outside Annabel is running when the uber vampire grabs her by the throat and kills her. Buffy finds her body and is attacked by the uber vampire. Buffy limps away into a construction site unable to fight but the vampire chases her. Buffy kicks one of the scaffolding and a tonne of pipes crush the uber vampire. Buffy runs off just to see the uber vampire rise out of the debri. It leaps on Buffy and Buffy is knocked under a pile of construction material. The gang arrive to take her home. At home Giles says that Buffy was their only hope and now she can hardly fight it. Buffy comes into the scene saying that she is beyond tired and beyond scared. This thing evil is the reason why the evils they fought are here. Its going to swallow her and choke. The First isn't ready and neither are they. Well she's done waiting. She's gonna take the Apocalpse to them. | |

| Another of the many SITs arrive at the Summer's home. One of the SITs Eve is very worried that they are safe since Buffy was nearly killed by the uber-vamp last time. Buffy sadly still doesn't have a plan against the First. Anya then suggests to go see the mystical eye that may know how to defeat the First. The gang decide to let Andrew loose but warns him that if he tries anything he is dead meat. Next morning, Willow reports that another SIT arrived days before but the Watcher was killed before he could send message that she was coming. Xander and Buffy go to retrieve the new SIT while Anya and Giles go see the eye. Anya manages to convince an ex lover to open the vortex for her since only vengeance demons can do it. Inside they find a floating ball of eyeballs. Meanwhile the SITs are training. Eve complains that this is useless as none of them know how to fight or are any good. The First is going to kill them one by one. The only thing they can do is watch as each one of them dies around them. Buffy and Xander go to the motel room of the SIT to find her dead body, killed by the Harbringers. Buffy turns her over. It's Eve. The real Eve must have been killed days ago. Buffy and Xander rush home realizing the truth. Buffy confronts Eve who gloats that by nightfall the uber-vampire will come for them. She then disappears leaving the SITs freaked that the First was with them the whole time. Buffy reassures them that it is alright. She asks Willow to try to do a barrier spell. As the SITs break out in arguments and fear, Buffy and the gang leave. That night the house is surrounded by Harbringers. The SITs are suited up. The uber-vampire breaks in but is stopped by Willow's spell. However it is too strong and they run for it. They separate, the SITs going to a hiding stop while Buffy faces off the uber-vampire. This time she is more ready and runs to lure the uber-vampire away but it is undeterred and runs after the SITs. Meanwhile the eye reveals to Giles and Anya that the First cannot be killed, it was there long before them and it'll be there long after them. Giles asks why the First has appeared now. The eye answers that there has been a shift in the Slayer line. After they leave Anya and Giles realizes that the eye means because Buffy is alive. The First would have never risen if Buffy had stayed dead. The gang and SITs are at the construction site of the school library. They take positions nervously when the uber-vampire leaps into the scene. Kennedy, one of the SITs gets ready to fight when Buffy shows up ready to kill it once and for all. The SITs and gang climb onto the scaffolding and watch. Buffy faces off in a intense fight and begins to fade. Dawn cries for help but Willow tells her that Buffy knows what she's doing. Buffy gains the upperhand again and pummels it. Dawn realizes that they planned this. IT flashes back to a scene. Buffy secretly tells Willow that the SITs need to see her kill this thing or they'll never have faith. Willow plans to deliberately drop the barrier. Back to the present, Buffy uses a chain to strangle the vampire and decapitate it. It dusts and Buffy holds up her hands to show that it is like any vampire, simply dust. The SITs are amazed and leave following Buffy. As they leave the First watches from above. Later Spike is still chained up when Buffy arrives. At first he thinks that it is the First or another dream. But Buffy cuts him loose and he reaches to grab her. She's real. The two walk out of there. | |

| Buffy and Spike are training the SITs to trust their instincts. During a demonstration Buffy sits on Spike and they both get bashful. Meanwhile Dawn feels left out as Buffy and the SITs continue their training. The First seems to be regrouping at the time right now. Andrew is still there quoting Sci-fi. Willow announces that a seer has located a SIT right here in Sunnydale. At school, Buffy talks with a girl called Amanda. During the conversation Buffy begins to drift of in her own thoughts about her relationship with Spike. Willow does a spell to locate the SIT. She conjures a orange glow but it seems to have failed. Dawn goes to answer the door when the orange glow chases after her and flows into her. The gang gasp as they realize that Dawn may be a SIT. Meanwhile Buffy and Spike take the SITs to a Willy's place where they meet the nasties. She then takes them to a vampire lair to show where vampires dwell. During the lesson, Buffy comments that Spike's crypt was comfy and they both get jittery again. Back at home, Dawn is panicking about being a Slayer. She 's happy that she can spend time with Buffy but realizes that her whole future has changed. The gang try to calm her but Dawn races to her room for some time to think. At the lair Buffy battles a new born vampire in front of the SITs. Then in the middle of the battle she drops her stake, racing out with Spike and blocking the door. Locking the SITs in with the vampire. The gang talk about how Buffy may be upset that her sister is a SIT since Slayers don't live very long. Dawn sneaks out to clear her head and bumps into Amanda. Amanda confides that there was a monster at school. She knocked it out and ran away. Dawn figures it's a vampire and decides to go with Amanda to dust it. At the place, they find the vampire gone. It suddenly attacks them and they manage to barricade the door. Buffy and Spike soon hear about Dawn's escapade. When the door breaks down, Dawn is prepared like a true SIT and hits the vampire with everything she's got. However she is soon pinned down and calls out to Amanda. Harbringers burst through. Dawn freaks, thinking they are after her as a SIT but the Harbringers head straight for Amanda instead. Dawn manages to escape with Amanda. The gang arrive in time to kill the Harbringers. Dawn realizes that Amanda not her is the SIT and hands the stake to her. Amanda is the Chosen One. She fights and dusts the vampire. After that she demands to know what is going on. She was just looking for Buffy outside her house for advice when she got hit by a orange glowing thing. Dawn explains that Amanda is the new SIT. Next day, Amanda is with the SITs as Buffy calls them to train. Dawn watches sadly from behind as they troop off. Xander sits with her and says that she is special. Buffy and the SITs will never know what's it like. 7 years he has watched his friends grow more powerful while he's still remain powerless. They will never know how much harder it is for them to be so close to the spotlight and never touch it. He tells Dawn that she isn't special. She's extraordinary. | |

| Giles leaves with the SITs to go on the same spiritual journey into the desert that Buffy did. Kennedy stays behind since she is sick. However when Willow goes up to see Kennedy, she is anything but sick and convinces Willow to go out with her. Spike and Buffy are chatting when he suddenly yells out in pain. His head explodes with pain though he hasn't done anything. At the Bronze, Kennedy confesses that she faked being sick because she wanted to hang alone with Willow. At first Willow walks off but then ends up staying to chat. Buffy decides to get help from the Initiative about Spike's chip. At the same time he is exploded with pain randomly. Willow and Kennedy come back from their date and the two kiss. To her horror Willow turns into Warren mid kiss. She/he races downstairs where the gang are shocked and convinced he is the First. Buffy punches her/him and Kennedy confirms that it is Willow. Upset, she resolves to reverse this on her own and leaves. Kennedy tags along. Buffy calls a flower shop contacting Riley but is unsure of whether it really is a flower shop or a secret government disguise. Getting no where Spike and Buffy head out to the Initiative base. Willow and Kennedy arrive at Sunnydale University to seek help from the wicca group in her freshman days. Surprisingly Amy is there recuperating from her own addiction. Buffy and Spike meanwhile get into the base, finding rotting bodies as they look for the lab. At home, the rest of the gang get a call from Robson. He tells them that he was attacked by the Harbringers and the last thing he saw was Giles about to be killed. When he came to, Giles was gone. After the call the gang realize that Giles never told them about the incident or did they notice him holding anything since his arrival. Nor has any of them hugged him. They race out tot he desert, fearing for the SITs. Amy apologizes and offers to help try counter the spell over Willow. When she fails Willow slaps her. To her horror Warren's personality is taking over as well and she races out. Kennedy follows but is stopped. She walks back and talks to Amy who slips up saying something about her being a SIT. Realizing that she never said anything about that, Kennedy confronts Amy. Meanwhile the gang are in the desert and pounce on Giles but who seems very much touchable in fact. Spike and Buffy battle a remaining demon underground when a group of commandos show up. They have received Buffy's message to Riley and offer to help. They give Buffy a choice of whether to fix the chip or remove it completely. Meanwhile Willow buys a gun. Kennedy confronts Amy who spits out that Willow had so much power while she had to work for hers. Willow tried to destroy the world yet everyone forgave her. So she did a penance spell on Willow that lets the victim's subconscious decide the punishment. Amy then teleports Kennedy to Willow. Kennedy arrives in Buffy's backyard, when Willow/Warren arrives with the gun. She cries out that she killed Tara, when she kissed Kennedy she had finally let go of Tara. Willow/Warren falls on the floor crying out for Tara to come back. Kennedy comes over and kisses Willow who then turns back into herself. | |

| Spike and Buffy return announcing that his chip is gone to Giles' worry. Giles explains that in England he heard the Harbringer coming and killed him. It seems that they also have a new SIT from Asia who can't understand English. At work Buffy investigates Principal Wood who they think may be evil. To her surprise he actually asks her out. When Buffy leaves, Wood reveals a dagger puts it back in his hidden At the same time, Xander asks out a girl at the construction to coffee. The whole gang chats about their new dates. Buffy is suspicious of Wood but at the same time she likes him. Giles helps the new SIT settle in despite the language barrier. Andrew is approached by the First in Jonathon's form who tells Andrew to kill the SITs with a gun. Both Anya and Spike are jealous of Xander and Buffy's dates yet Spike tries to hide it. Giles is having problems with the new SIT when he shows her some gruesome flashcards of demons and blood. He is shocked that the gang are going on dates at this time of crisis. Buffy and Wood are in a dark alley going to the restaurant when attacked by vampires. At first Buffy thinks Wood set her up but then sees him dusting two himself. Xander and his date Lisa are getting along great when she suggests they go elsewhere. At the same time, Andrew has the gun while talking with Jonathon/First. Andrew begins to ask about the First's weaknesses and it is soon revealed that he is wearing a wire. At the restaurant, Wood explains that his mother was a Slayer and he was brought up by her Watcher. He doesn't have any powers but he wants to help defeat the First and vengeance against his mother's killer. The First rises up and sounds throughout the house where Willow and the gang are listening in a headphone. It threatens Andrew then leaves. Willow then gets a txt message from Xander who is about to be killed by his date. Spike eagerly suggest calling Buffy from her date. Meanwhile, Xander is strung up above the seal in the basement. Lisa taunts him then stabs him. Buffy and Wood are flirting when Spike shows up and the three drive to the school. The seal begins to open but Wood unties Xander and it closes without sufficient blood. Spike vamps out during the fight in front of Wood. They kill Lisa and return home. Xander desperately wishes to turn gay since all women who were ever attracted to him are demons. Giles cuts through the middle of their laughter saying that they don't have time for fun anymore. It is time to get serious because the First is back in action. Wood back at home is approached by the First. In the form of his mother. he brushes it away first but then she reveals to him who killed her. It was Spike. | |

| Buffy has dream of the First Slayer who tells her that it's not enough. Principal Wood gives Buffy a bag passed down by Slayers, which was his mother's. Buffy shows Wood around her house, where the SITs are training. When he meets Spike and starts to ask about his past, the room tenses. That night the gang are shocked when they find one of the SITs hanged. The First appears saying that they had a nice talk all night until Chloe hanged herself. Buffy buries Chloe and comes back to the SITs, furious that they aren't ready. Bufy bears down on them, though the gang say that they are trying their hardest. Buffy even yells at Spike, saying he was better fighter when he was evil and more useful. She grabs the Slayer bag and finds a locked box. Inside they find shadow casters and a text. Dawn begins to read as Xander places the shadow casters. The shadows come to life and tell them about the First Slayer. The Shadowmen chained a girl to fight the demons. A portal appears and Buffy jumps in, as a demon comes into this time. It thrashes Spike then escapes. Buffy appears in the desert and met three Shadowmen who offer her power. They knock Buffy out. Willow decides to use magic to find a way to get Buffy back. Spike rushes out to find his old leather jacket and become the Spike that Buffy wants. Wood asks where he got the leather jacket from and Spike replies in New York. Where Wood's mother died. Buffy wakes up chained up like the First Slayer. The men agree to give her the power she needs and releases a dark cloud. Buffy realizes that how they created the First Slayer. From darkness and evil. The cloud swirls toward Buffy but she refuses, fighting back against the Shadowmen. Spike kills the demon and drags it back to the house. Willow does the spell, during which she turns black and roars at Kennedy. The last Shadowmen lets her go saying that she did not accept the power they offered. Buffy appears back as Spike throws the demon back. Willow tries to talk to Kennedy who is still shaken from the magic. Buffy confesses that she was too hard on them. She should have accepted the power because the First Slayer was right, it's not enough. Willow asks what did the Shadowmen show her. Buffy can only remember the image of thousands of uber vamps waiting under the seal. | |

| Next to a roaring fire place, Andrew sits ready to tell us his story. The story of Buffy, Slayer of the Vampires. She is patrolling the cemetery. Reality- Anya bursts into the bathroom in the middle of Andrew's home video. He is shooed out by the line of girls waiting. Back at patrol, Buffy is annoyed by Andrew who is following her with a video camera. The next morning, Andrew tapes the girls eating breakfast and introduces the viewers to the gang. As Buffy tells them of her vision of the uber-vamps, Andrew exits the room to talk about himself. In his imagination he is the brilliant leader of the Trio and single handedly stopped evil-Willow. At work Buffy notices the tension among the students as the Hell-mouth energy begins to affect them. Meanwhile, Andrew interviews Xander and Anya about their relationship which gets tense when Andrew asks Xander if he still loves Anya. Xander says that he loves her but he's not sure if it means anything. Wood and Buffy go down to the seal. Wood is momentarily possessed by the First until Buffy knocks some sense into him. Buffy decides to find some answers about the seal from Andrew. The tables are turned as the gang interrogate Andrew about the seal. In his story, he and Jonathon are in Mexico. They seem to have been having nightmares recently. When Jonathon leaves, Warren appears and tells Andrew to kill Jonathon with the dagger, with promises of being gods. Present- The gang get the dagger and find some strange language. After a while, Buffy and Willow come back with the info and say that they must go to the school right away. Wood, Spike, Jonathon and Buffy arrive at the school which has been vandalized by the hell-bent students. Buffy and Andrew go down to the basement while Spike and Andrew keep watch. Anya and Xander are sitting in bed, thinking about what they just did. They both agree that it was nice, but that it seems it really is over for them. Back at school, Buffy and Andrew are talking about him killing Jonathon. Andrew tells her that Jonathon attacked him so he had to kill him. Five minutes later, Jonathon changes his story saying that the First possessed him and killed Jonathon. When they arrive at the seal, there are a group of students with mutilated faces chanting around the glowing seal. Buffy takes care of the students while Andrew tapes this. Once they are gone, Buffy reveals to him that they found out that the blood of the first one, who gave the seal blood, will close the seal. Andrew gets scared as Buffy faces off with him with the dagger in her hand. Buffy demands that he stop making up stories. She is just about to stab him holding him over the seal, when he starts crying. Andrew grieves saying both to Buffy and himself that he killed Jonathon in cold blood. As he cries, the tears drop onto the seal as the glow diminishes. Buffy drops him down explaining that it didn't want blood, it wanted tears. Back at home, Andrew sits on the toilet with the camera. He starts to talk but finds that he can't make up excuses for his actions anymore and shuts the camera off. | |

| Giles is concerned about Spike's trigger so they chain him up and try to find out what the song that triggers him is. They use a magical stone that can brings back Spike's memories. They insert the stone into Spike's head and suddenly he begins to imagine back into the past. 1880- William is reading one of his poems to his mother who applauds proudly. Suddenly she starts coughing blood, then calls him over to sit with her. When he sits down she starts to sing. The same song which triggers him transformation. Back in the present, Spike suddenly lunges forward, throwing back Buffy and hurting Dawn. The stone pops out and he's back to his old self. The gang questions Spike about the song and he tells them that it's just an old song his mother sang to him. Giles presses that there must be something more but Spike isn't about to tell anything. Willow bandages Dawn when a phone call comes from Fred in LA. Buffy releases Spike despite Giles's warnings. Willow tells Buffy that she has to go for about a day to do something and leaves. Wood convinces Giles that they have to do something about Spike. Giles finds out that Wood's mother was Nicky who was killed by Spike. Giles agrees to distract Buffy while Wood takes care of Spike once and for all. Past- In New York, Nicky the Slayer is fighting against Spike while her son, Robin watches. Spike eventually runs off saying that he'll be back. Nicky greets her son and reminds him that fighting vampires is what matters because it's the mission that matters. Buffy and Giles are out training in the cemetery. Buffy wonders why their training as Giles and she have a long talk. Giles tries to convince Buffy that Spike is a liability and dangerous to the mission. Meanwhile Spike is staying at Wood's place. Wood locks the door and turns on the lights to reveal that all the walls are fixed with crosses. Spike begins to get suspicious as Wood gets out some weapons and turns on his computer. Wood reveals that he doesn't want to kill Spike he wants to kill the creature that killed his mother. He plays the song on his computer. Spike changes and the two fight but Wood gets the upper hand. While they fight, Spike flashes again to the past. He and Drusilla are at his home when his mother appears. William, the vampire, tells his mother that it's alright and that they'll be mother and son forever. He turns her into a vampire. Later William comes back to find his mother who is now a vampire. However, his mother is changed and yells at William for being an incompetent son and worthless man. William is shocked and hurt and stakes his mother, as he says sorry. Present- Wood is about to kill Spike but is put off when Spike suddenly says sorry. Spike jumps up, no longer controlled by the trigger and batters Wood. He explains that his mother loved him with her whole heart, but Wood's didn't. When Spike's mother said those things she was a demon, he gets that now. However Wood's mother didn't love him enough to quit slaying. Spike walks over to the computer and switches the music off. Wood lies shocked on the floor when Spike comes over and sinks him teeth into him. Buffy finally realizes that Giles is stalling her and rushes to find Spike. Spike is there and says that he let Wood live this one time. Buffy rushes to Wood and warns that Spike will kill him next time and more importantly, she let him. Back at home, Giles tries to talk to Buffy, but she just shuts the door in his face. | |

| A girl is running from Bringers and jumps onto a ride on a passing truck. However the driver is a priest called Caleb who reveals that he works with the Bringers. He burns a mark on her neck, stabs her and throws her out of the moving car. Willow and Faith are driving in the car behind and rush out to the girl fallen out. Willow stays at the hospital with the girl while Faith goes to find Buffy. Faith finds Spike and fights him until Buffy intervenes and explains that Spike has a soul. They return home where things are tense. Meanwhile Caleb talks to the First whom he thinks is God. Caleb is eager to meet Buffy. At school, Buffy is fired by Wood who explains that Buffy is needed more at home than there. Andrew tells another story about Faith adding a bit of Star Trek. Faith and Spike catch up since last time they met when Faith was in Buffy's body. The girl in the hospital wakes up telling them about Caleb and his message for Buffy that he has something of hers. Buffy goes, fearing it might be a Potential. Faith and Buffy find the Bringer's base. The girls are nervous about going into battle questioning Buffy's motives. Xander gives a heartfelt speech about Buffy. Buffy decides to take action now and attack the base despite Giles' warnings that they aren't ready. Buffy, Spike, Faith, Xander and the longer trained girls head out. Inside the cellar they fight against the Bringers and are winning. However Caleb appears and effortlessly throws Buffy across the room. Buffy is down while the girls fight the Bringers, however they are quickly overwhelmed. Caleb kills Molly and another SIT. Buffy calls for retreat. The others barely escape, injured and hurt. Buffy distracts Caleb while Xander helps the others to escape. However Caleb catches Xander and digs out his left eye. Buffy cries out and rushes him out. Buffy walks in a daze surveying the damage of those around her. | |

| Everyone, including Clem, is scared and leaving Sunnydale. Willow and Giles get information on Caleb. Xander is recovering in the hospital with Willow keeping him company. Anya and Andrew teach the SITs about the ubervamp but they are restless and scared. Buffy brings files on Caleb for the gang to sift through about where Caleb has been before. Giles finds a clue in the police photos of previous places that Caleb has been. He sends Spike and Andrew to check out the place which is a monastery. Buffy goes to the highschool to think. She finds a photo of Willow, Xander and her in high school. Caleb arrives taunting her about Xander. He throws her around then leaves. Faith decides to take Dawn and the SITs to the Bronze to relax a little after their studies and training. They are drunk and having a great time when cops arrive. They recognize Faith as a wanted criminal and take her. The girls are forced to stay in the Bronze by a cop. Outside the Bronze the cops reveal that they don't intend to take her to jail but rather kill her right there. Faith fights back and gets battered. The girls subdue the cop and help Faith against the Hellmouth crazed cops. Buffy learns that Spike and Andrew have gone to look for clues and that the SITs and Faith have gone to the Bronze. Buffy arrives to see Faith finish knocking out the cops. Angry she sends the girls home and argues with Faith. Meanwhile, Spike and Andrew find the monastery. They find a frightened monk with a mark burned on his face courtesy of Caleb. He tells them that Caleb came looking for a plaque. After seeing the plaque, Caleb became furious and slaughtered all the other monks. Spike reads the plaque which says 'It is not for thee, but only her to wield'. Back in Sunnydale, Buffy tells the SITs that they must go back to the cellar because this is where Caleb's source of power may be and that the First is protecting something there. Faith argues that they can't go in there on a guess. The SITs refuse and Buffy demands them to fall in line. Anya interrupts her reminding her that just because she's the Slayer doesn't make her better than the rest of them. The SITs suggest that Faith take charge for a while. Buffy tries to convince them that to win, they have to follow her lead. The SITs say that Buffy is so obsessed with defeating Caleb that she doesn't care if they die. Willow thinks that Buffy's judgment is impaired. Xander reminds her that her decisions had a price. Buffy realizes she's been overthrown. Dawn hugs her and tells her that Buffy will have to leave. Buffy grabs her jacket and walks out the door. Faith goes after her. Buffy is crying and tells Faith to take care of the girls. | |

| Buffy finds an empty house to stay at. Meanwhile, the meeting is crowded by ideas and people. Faith decides to attack their weakest enemies, the Bringers. They capture one and use a spell to find out information. The Bringer channels it speech through Andrew who tells them where the Bringer base is. Giles kills the Bringer. Spike and Andrew returns. Spike is furious at how they treated Buffy and he and Faith get into a fight. Spike leaves to find Buffy. Andrew tells the gang about what they found and that the First is protecting a weapon that can destroy it. The gang retire for the night. Faith is in a room when approached by the First in the form of the Mayor. Faith is clearly shaken and even though she knows it it the First, it is still emotionally wrecking. It congratulates her for kicking Buffy out and warns her that Buffy is dangerous. It disappears as Wood walks in. Faith and Wood have a talk about the First appearing in the Mayor and Nicky's form to shake them up. Faith and Wood begin to kiss then sleep together. At the same time, Willow gets into bed with Kennedy and they sleep together. Elsewhere, Spike finds Buffy. Buffy is depressed and tired. She says that all her life, people have reached out to her but she's always stepped back. Spike cheers her up and tells her that she's one hell of a woman. Buffy goes to sleep and Spike leaves. She stops him and asks him to stay and just hold her. He obliges and the two fall asleep in bed. The next morning, the SITs and Faith go to the underground hideout and battle against the Bringers. After defeating them, they head towards a metal box at the back. Spike wakes up to find a note left by Buffy. Caleb is in the cellar with the First when Buffy bursts in. Buffy challenges him to catch her. Caleb lunges and the two run around while Buffy jumps around missing all his blows, teasing him. In the middle of the fight, Caleb knocks over a barrel revealing a trap door underneath. Buffy rolls and dives him. Adjusting to the darkness, Buffy sees what the First was protecting and smiles for the first time in a while. At the same time, Faith kicks open the box to find a bomb with only seven seconds and ticking. She cries out to the others to get out. | |

| The bomb explodes. Meanwhile Buffy approaches a scythe like weapon set into stone. Caleb appears explaining that they've been trying to get it out. Buffy shocks Caleb when she lifts it out effortlessly. Caleb is clearly afraid and lets Buffy take off with it. Elsewhere, the survivors of the explosion are looking for other alive SITs and Faith. They find Faith unconscious and carry her out when they are attacked by a few Ubervamps. A SIT is killed and the rest injured just as Buffy bursts through with her new weapon, dusting all the Ubervamps with it. They return to Buffy's house where the SITs are bandaged. Now they are considering Buffy to be leader again. Faith is more hurt and lies in bed while Buffy shows them the weapon. None of them know what it is but Buffy senses that it has power and is the Slayer's. Faith wakes and confides to Buffy that she no longer envies her life. Its very lonely and a lot of burdens. Buffy tells Xander that she has a job for him. Willow and Giles research the weapon and find that it may be related to hieroglyphs found at a pagan temple. Andrew suggests that he and Anya go to the abandoned hospital for more bandages and medical stuff. While robbing the place, Anya confesses that she is astounded by humans and how they never give up. Andrew and Anya agree to be one of those people and Andrew realizes that Anya loves humans. Meanwhile, Caleb wants to go after Buffy so the First agrees to fill him with its essence, giving him more power. At home, Spike comes and sees that Buffy has the weapon. He confesses that last night was the best night in his life. Buffy says that it was him that gave her strength to fight Caleb and get the weapon. Spike brushes her off and tells her that he'll stop by the pagan temple to check if she needs help later. Meanwhile, Xander uses chloroform to knock out Dawn and drive them out of Sunnydale. Dawn is furious and reads a letter from Buffy who explains that she wants her to be safe. Dawn uses a taser to knock out Xander and drive them back. Buffy goes in the temple to find an old woman who explains that they are the guardians of the Slayer and created the scythe a long time ago. She tells Buffy to use the weapon and that the end is coming. Caleb appears behind her, snapping her neck and confronts Buffy. Buffy and Caleb fight. Buffy is overpowered and he is about to kill her when he is backhanded. It's Angel. He greets Buffy and leaves her to finish Caleb of herself. She kills him and turns to greet Angel with a kiss. Meanwhile in the shadows, Spike and the First are watching. | |

| Angel tells Buffy that he is here to help defeat the First. Suddenly he is knocked aside as Caleb rises. Buffy makes short work of him dicing him in half. Angel sees Buffy's work and she gets to make a pun. Spike leaves knowing that he isn't needed with Angel around. Buffy tells Angel to leave because she needs him to be the second front in case they lose. Angel suspects another reason and confronts Buffy about Spike. Buffy confesses that Spike is in her heart and that he has a soul. Angel is jealous. Buffy muses about her bad luck with guys and that she's like cookie dough. She's not done cooking yet and isn't ready. Angel gives her an important amulet and leaves. Buffy returns home to find Dawn and Xander. Buffy goes to see Spike who confronts her about Angel. He asks about the amulet. Buffy tells him that it is worn by a champion with a soul but is more than human. Spike is put down by the whole champion thing but is surprised when Buffy gives him the amulet to wear. Buffy spends the night with Spike but wakes up in the middle of the night. The First in Caleb's form is there. He then turns into Buffy and recites 'Into every generation...' Then the First pauses, musing on how the Buffy will fight and die alone. Spike wakes up and the First disappears. Buffy then realizes a crazy plan. Telling the gang, they think it is radical but a good plan. Willow is worried since a lot is dependent on her but Buffy hands the scythe with absolute faith. Buffy then gathers the SITs and tells them that they are going into the hellmouth. That night, Faith and Robin are blocking up the highschool. At the same time, they chat about their little relationship. Robin makes a deal that if they survive, he'll surprise her. The next day, the entire gang and SITs head for the highschool. The group separates to their different jobs eventually leaving the original four, Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles. They start to talk about their weekend and Giles walks off muttering that the world is certainly doomed. Willow and Xander go off too leaving Buffy to walk alone. Willow and Kennedy are set up in Robin's office setting up a spell. Xander, Dawn. Giles, Robin, Anya and Andrew guard the school. Buffy, Faith and the SITs stand around the seal and cut their hands for blood. With enough blood the seal opens. Buffy, Spike and the others go in. Their are millions of uber vampires down there and they've noticed them. Willow warns Kennedy that she may have to kill her and starts the spell. It flashes back to yesterday when Buffy gathers the SITs. She tells them that none of them have Slayer powers. But what if they could. Willow has a spell using the scythe that will give every potential out there the power to defeat evil. Present- Willow begins the spell and a flash flows from the scythe. As the uber vampires rush up all the potentials feel a rush. They've been Chosen. Buffy and the SITs fight back the uber vamps successfully. Meanwhile Willow is covered in the white glow and then returns to normal after the spell. She hands the scythe to Kennedy to help Buffy. Buffy gets the scythe and continues fighting. Spike begins to feel strangely from the amulet. Buffy is run through by a uber vampire and falls down. Faith rushes over and Buffy hands her the scythe to continue fighting. The Slayers begin to fall back. The First taunts Buffy who then gets up with renewed strength and walks right through it. The vampires begin to run out where the rest of the gang are waiting. They kill most of the vampires but Robin is stabbed. Anya is fighting and killed by a Bringer to save Andrew. A beam of sunlight shoots out of Spike's amulet and begins to spread dusting all the vamps. The SITs rush out as the walls tumble. Buffy tries to get Spike out but he refuses. She tells him that she loves him and he tells her to leave now before all the hellmouth crumbles. The gang get on a bus and drive off as the school crumbles. Buffy gets out in time and runs after the bus. Spike smiles as the entire rays from the amulet destroy all the vampires and eventually himself. The entire Sunnydale is crumbling, falling into the hellmouth. Buffy leaps onto the bus and it eventually coasts to a stop. Robin is injured bad and for a moment Faith thinks he is dead. Then he bursts back to life, surprising Faith like he promised. The gang get out to look back on Sunnydale. The gang contemplate what they do now. Dawn asks Buffy what she wants to do and Buffy smiles. | |
