| Forever Music: Chris Beck 'Close Your Eyes'. Giles mourns the passing of Joyce by listening to 'Tales of Brave Ulysses' by Cream. It's the same track they were listening to in Giles' apartment in Band Candy. 'Tomorrow We'll Awake', an unreleased track by Splendid, can also be heard during Xander and Anya's bedroom scene. Intervention The Replacement wasn't the only time Nicholas Brendon's twin brother Kelly Donovan played Xander in Season Five. He crops up again here, doubling for Nick in some scenes, such as the fight at the end of the episode. Tough Love Glory's brain-sucking effect was achieved by actress Clare Kramer pushing her fingers into a dummy head covered in blue material. In post-production, the blue head was digitally removed by computer and replaced by Amber Benson's. The Gift Joss teased fans at the Nocturnal N3K Buffy convention by claiming that he'd planned to kill Anya during The Gift's climactic battle.
