Regulars Four Star Mary play 'Never Mind', 'Pain' and 'Sway'.

Faith, Hope and Trick

One of Joss Whedons ideas for the series is that the older a vampire gets, the more animalistic they become. Two vampires that Buffy has encountered have exhibited signs of this: The Master, whose features were bat-like, and Kakistos, who has cloven feet and hands.

According to the Welcome to Sunnydale sign that Spike knocks over at the beginning of this episode, Sunnydales population is 38,500 (and, getting smaller all the time)

It was originaly intended that Drusilla should be in this episode. Unfortunately, Juliet Landau was unavailble, due to other work commitments.

Also, the only episode with Spike in it in season three.

Music:

Chris Beck 'Loneliness of Six' and Gary Oldman 'My Way'.

The Wish

Music House Music Library 'Get Out of My Way', Gingersol 'Never Noticed', The Spies  'Tired Of Being Alone' and Plastic 'Dedicated to Pain'.

Amends

The episode had at least two other titles before Joss settled on 'Amends': 'Old Enemies, Dead Enemies' and 'A Buffy Christmas'.

The 'Mutant Enemy' logo at the end is given a seasonal twist: the creature is wearing a Santa hat, and there are some jingle bells playing in the background. Its only the second time that its been changed: the first was at the end of 'Becoming Part II' where, instead of saying "Grrrrarrrggh!" it said "Oooh, I need a hug!"

Mark Kriski, who appears as the weather forecaster at the end of the episode, is a real-life weatherman, for KTLA in Los Angeles. Hes also been in both 'Speed' movies.

Music:

Barry White 'Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe'.
Chris Beck 'Dreaming Of Dublin, 1838' and     'Magic Snow Music'.

Helpless

Zackary Kralik was played by an actor with some experience of being a vampire: Jeff Corber appeared in Foxs short-lived 1996 series 'Kindred: The Embraced' He also returns in season six as the deeply creepy Warlock Rack!.

This episode marks Buffys eighteenth birthday, explaining the original title of this episode: "Eighteen".

Music:

Chris Beck 'A Fathers Love', 'Betrayal' and  'Kraliks House'.

The Zeppo

Music:

Chris Beck 'Dead Guys with Bombs',   Supergrass 'G-Song', Tricky Woo 'Easy', Sound Stage, Ltd 'Dodgems', Los Angeles Post Music and Extreme Music 'For the Glory'.

Bad Girls

The music playing in the Bronze, as Faith and Buffy party after their fight with El Eliminati is 'Chinese Burn', by British group Curve, from their album 'Come Clean'. If it seems naggingly familiar, its probably because Sony used it for a long-running advert for the Minidisc format.

Consequences

Music:

Kathleen Wilhoite 'Wish We Never Met'.

Doppelgangland

Music:

Chris Beck 'Alternate Willow', K's Choice 'Virgin State Of Mind' and Spectator Pump 'Priced 2 Move'.

Earshot

The original transmission of this episode was delayed because of a tragic real-life shooting incident at the Littleton High School in Colorado. Subsequently this episode has been placed where it was originally to air, between 'Enemies' and 'Choices'.

Choices

Music:

Chris Beck 'Into the Mayors Lair'.

The Prom

The tapes in Tuckers video collection, (which he uses to taunt and train the devil dogs), are:

'Prom Night' (1980)

'Prom Night IV - Deliver Us From Evil' (1992)

'Pump Up The Volume' (1990)

'Pretty In Pink' (1986)

'Carrie' (1976)

Buffys assertion that Angel is 243 years old again contradicts the continuity mentioned in 'Becoming - Part One', (which states that Angel became a vampire in 1753). In 'Earshot', 'Some Assembly Required' and 'Reptile Boy', Angels date of birth is given as 1755 or 1756.

Music:

Several songs are referred to, either directly (Sister Sledges 1979 hit 'We Are Family'), or indirectly (Princes '1999' (1982), in Buffys line Now I'm gonna lock you in here, and then I'm gonna party like it's ...[1999]). The song that lures the devil dogs back towards the prom is Kool and the Gangs biggest hit, 1980s 'Celebration'.
The song that Angel and Buffy dance to at the end of the episode is The Sundays 'Wild Horses' (a late addition to their 1992 album 'Blind', 'Wild Horses' is a cover version of a track on the 1971 Rolling Stones album 'Sticky Fingers')
Also to be heard are Chris Beck's 'Class Protector','Dearly Beloved' and 'The Beginning of the End'. Cracker 'The Good Life', Fatboy Slim 'Praise You' and The Lassie Foundation 'El Rey'.
