| The Puppet Show Oops Moments: How come the other performers seem to have disappeared during the climactic fight between the Scoobies and the Demon. Come to think of it, why are the audience so quiet too? Also, Willow is seen typing away at her computer in one scene - even though it doesn't appear to be switched on. Nightmares Sarah Michelle Gellar hated the location filming for this episode as she has a morbid fear of real graveyards and being buried alive. The actress was far happier when the crew built their own mock graveyard in the car park of the Buffy lot for season two. Buffy's dad Hank is played by Dean Butler, famous for his role as Almanzo Wilder in seventies American drama Little House on the Prairie. Buffy's date of birth finally settles down after I Robot, You Jane. Her gravestone reveals that she was born in 1981. Oops Moments: How exactly did vampire Buffy manage to get to the hospital in broad daylight without sizzling? In Willow's opera nightmare, Aldo gestures for Willow to sing. In that bit of Madame Butterfly, he should have another three lines to sing before it's her turn. Out of Mind, Out of Sight Although the episode is officially known as Out of Mind, Out of Sight, it is also widely referred to as Invisible Girl. The sequence where Marcie watches as her hand disappear in class (and, indeed, the whole episode) was inspired by a vivid dream Joss Whedon had as a child. He used to think nobody loved him and that he was invisible to those around him. Prophecy Girl Alyson Hannigan claimed in a magazine interview that she filmed a much stronger version of the scene where Willow and Cordelia discover the bodies of Kevin and his friends. "We did a tame version for America and a bloodier version that we thought we could get away with in Europe. We poured blood everywhere." Even so, the episode was the first to receive a TV14 rating in America for its graphic content. In a scene scripted but never filmed, it rains stones on Sunnydale High School after Buffy rejects Xander. Having filmed all twelve episodes of season one before any were transmitted, the Buffy cast and crew had no idea how popular the show would turn out to be, or if they would be called back to film more episodes. Oops Moments: How does everyone know where Angel lives all of a sudden? Giles even has his phone number. When Buffy drowns, she falls into the pool with her hair tied in a ponytail and her arms under her. When she is discovered by Angel and Xander, her arms are by her sides and her hair is loose. In the scene where Willow and Ms. Calendar get into Cordy's car, Charisma Carpenter's mouth doesn't move when she's talking at some points. Music: Xander wallows in Country and Western misery - Patsy Cline's I 'Fall to Pieces'. Other music is 'Inconsolable' by Jonathan Brooke & the Story. |
