| 4. Teacher�s Pet (Thanks to Lea for the episode Guide) Original Air Date: March 25, 1997 Written by: David Greenwalt Directed by: Bruce Seth Green Guest Cast: Musetta Vander (Miss Natalie French) Jackson Price (Blayne) Jean Speegle Howard (Elderly Miss French) William Monaghan (Dr. Gregory) Jack Knight (Homeless Guy) Michael Ross Verona (Teacher) Karim Oliver (Bud #1) The episode starts with Xander dreaming he�s a singer and that he saves Buffy from vampires. He wakes up in science class with Buffy telling him he�s drooling. Dr. Gregory the science teacher asks Buffy a question about the homework and he realizes she didn�t do it. After class he tells her not to let principal Flutie�s and the others negative opinion of her matter. He knows she�s smart. Later at the Bronze, Xander is embarrassed when Blayne, a guy from school questions Xander on how many girls he has slept with. He tries to make up for it with Willow and Buffy by calling them babes until Buffy goes over to a guy who has just come into the Bronze. Willow realizes this is Angel. Angel and Buffy flirt and he gives her his jacket. He tells her to watch out for a certain vampire. The next day Dr. Gregory�s body is found in the lunchroom, with his head missing. Buffy finds Dr Gregory's eye glasses in the classroom and ponders his death. Giles thinks it may be a vampire with one hand, but the teachers� blood is not missing. Ms. French the new substitute science teacher seems to have all the boys in class infatuated with her! When Buffy goes on patrol that night she runs into the vampire Angel warned her about. They fight and he escapes. She sees him confront Ms French who is walking home alone. The vampire runs away leaving Buffy to wonder what about the teacher scared him. When Buffy sees Ms. French turn her head a full 360 degrees she does some reading and concludes that the teacher is some sort of praying mantis. Blayne, A student who met with her the day before has not showed up at school. Buffy warns Xander who tells Buffy she is jealous of the attention he is getting from Ms French! When Xander goes over to the teacher�s apartment that evening, she drugs him and he wakes up in the basement in a cage. Blayne is in the next cage and tells him their teacher, turned bug, has plans to mate with them and then kill them! Buffy tries to track down Ms. French, but, when she cannot, she finds the one handed vampire that was scared of the teacher and forces him to lead her to Ms French! Xander is chosen to be next and tries to escape. When he is caught and tied down the �she-mantis� moves in, but Buffy arrives in the nick of time and stops her with bat sonar and kills and dismembers her with a machete. Xander destroys the eggs that Ms. French had already laid, and they go home! |
