1. Go on a Ghost Hunt
To get this star, defeat all ghosties in the castle.
1. In the 3rd door from the left.
2. In the 4th door from the left.
3. In the 5th door from the left.
4. In the backdoor of the castle OR use the vanish cap to go throught the ghost picture in the 2nd door.
5. With ghost 4.
Defeat Big Boo in the main level of the castle for a star.
Difficulty: 3/10
2. Ride Big Boo's Merry-Go-Round
Go in the house outside of the castle and follow a pathdown until you find a merry-go-round that goes in circles. Defeat 5 ghosts and Big Boo for a star.
Difficulty: 2/10
3. Secret of the Haunted Books
Go to the 2nd door on the left on the 2nd floor of the castle and avoid flying books. Notice the 3 books at the end of the path. Hit them in this order, middle, right, left, and you will receive a star.
Difficulty: 2/10
4. Seek the 8 Red Coins
Here's the list:
1. Behind the piano in the 1st door on the main floor.
2. On top of a bookshelf in the 2nd door on the main floor.
3. With red coin 2.
4. In the 5th door on the main floor.
5. In the 3rd door on the 2nd floor. Watch out for holes!
6. Under a coffin in the 4th door on the 2nd floor.
7. With red coin 6.
8. In the 5th door on the 2nd floor.
The star is on the 2nd floor.
Difficulty: 1/10
5. Big Boo's Balcony
Go to the last door on the 2nd floor and stand on the high part. Notice there is a platform above the door you just came from. Wall kick up there and follow the doors to Big Boo's Balcony. Defeat him without falling off. Here comes the hard part, getting the star. I usually long jump left or right to the part on top of the castle that you can stand on, then long jump to the star. Arguably the hardest star in the game.
Difficulty: 10/10
6. Eye to Eye in the Secret Room
First, go through the last door on the 2nd floor to get to the vanish cap. Put it on and quickly get to the room that is just before the balcony. Now go through the ghostie picture and run in circles around the big eye. This gets you the star.
Difficulty: 7/10
7. 100 Coins
Beat all ghosties and eyes for blue coins, get the blue coin switch in the room before the balcony, get red coins and you should easily get this star.
