Palmdale Stud 
Palmdale Stud is a breeder of champion horses and cattle with over 30 years experience as a stud farm. Originally established in 1970 in the beautiful Palmdale Valley just north of Sydney, Palmdale Stud relocated to its present location near Murwillumbah on the North Coast of NSW in 1996.We were pioneering breeders of Arabian horses in Australia, including breeding Palmdale Kontess, the first Arabian mare to achieve Champion in the Arabian Roll of Merit. This requires a horse to be a show champion in led classes, ridden classes and to produce a foal that has gained champion status. Palmdale Stud has also bred numerous show champions in breeds such as Arabian, Anglo-Arab, Arabian ponies and part-bred Arabian. Palmdale Stud founder Carolyn Tebbutt was one of the first breeders in Australia to take an interest in miniature horses, starting in the 1970s. 
Her interest grew as miniature breeds became more popular, and she become a foundation member of the Australian Miniature Horse Assocation, Inc (AMHA). She is also a member of the Australian Miniature Pony Society, Inc (AMPS) and the American Miniature Horse Assocation (AMHA).For many years, Carolyn passed on her skills in horsemastership through the Palmdale Riding Academy. She also began taking children's camps to teach them the wonders of farm life, which of course includes horse riding. Carolyn taught young enthusiasts that at least eighty percent of time spent with horses is in their care, with only twenty percent in actual riding! Carolyn met John Tuke in 1986 and they incited each other further into the wonderful world of miniature animals. Not content with their expanding herd of just horses, a hunt began for miniature cattle. This resulted in becoming foundation members of the Australian Lowline Cattle Association. Lowline cattle have since taken off in a big way, encouraging Carolyn and John to venture into new territory by importing Miniature Zebu cattle from the United States. |
