Micro mooees 
'Micro mooees' is the fun name we give to the tiny cattle we have bred at Crystal Creek Miniatures. We have blended them over the years from bloodlines that include the Australian Lowline, a small line of cattle produced by the NSW Agricultural Department.Lowline cattle were bred in a control experiment to see how small cattle fare compared to large cattle in contexts such as yield and weight gain per kilo of feed digested. Also, being lighter on the foot, their impact on pastures and soil is much less. They are possibly the world's first environmentally-friendly cattle! Of course, the Crystal Creek Miniatures micro mooees have our own secret ingredients, as well as an admixture of the Miniature Zebu we imported from the United States. 
From Flying W Farms we imported two Zebu cows, FWF Classy Redhead and FWF Thrice Blue. Keeping the cows company in their journey across the Pacific and their lengthy quarantine period was FWF Zorro, a most impressive bull with large curved horns that look at if he polishes them every day!We have continued to carefully blend different bloodlines to produce a herd of miniature cattle that is unique in Australia. It's a must-see for all animal lovers. |
