C�spedes came into our family tree with a famous poet in Cuba, Ursula C�spedes y Orellano.  She married Gines Escanaverino Linares in Cuba.

The C�spedes line has some pretty interesting individuals, including the leader of the War for Independance in 1868, Carlos Manuel C�spedes.  Click on the links below to view their biographies, written in Spanish by one of the descendants of the name, and a new friend I made on the net through my research, Manuel  Aguirre Botello. I also met Ana Maria Guadayol, who is a descendant of Gines Escanaverino and Ursula C�spedes.  I am planning to meet with her soon, and surely I will have more info and a wonderful new relative to trade stories with!

Although the C�spedes family is not directly related with me, some of the ancestors from that lineage are connected to me through the marriage into the Escanaverino family by Ursula C�spedes y Orellano..
