THE LEGENDS OF KIRTLAND

There are many legends about Kirtland. What you choose to believe is true is your choice but the stories are still around for a reason, right?

Legend #1
(courtesty of Jenny)

There is a river that runs parallel to the Melonhead property and it is haunted. It has been the place of many drownings. It gets its name "Cry Baby River" because a mother drowned her baby there. At night, when the wind dies down you can still hear the sound of the baby crying.

Here is what I know about Kirtland. Dr. Crowe used to perform illegal abortions in the slaughter house. He had a mistress with some kind of
problem, and made some kind of medication for her. The medicine made her head swell, hence "melonheads." He didn't want her to be
made fun of, so he locked her in a closet and took care of her. His wife found out, and got jealous. Dr. Crowe killed his wife so she wouldn't tell anyone. The woman in the closet saw him kill his wife and went crazy. She broke out of the closet, killed Dr. Crowe, and put his head on a pole in the front of the house. The mansion was burned down by the mistress after that, so all was left was his head on a pole. Now his
wife haunts Mitchell Mills Rd., and the mistress haunts the slaughter house.

There is a monument in Kirtland and everyone calls it the Witches Grave.  All we know about the Witches Grave at this time is that if you stop at it and you do not pee on it, you will have bad luck.
