I'm Happy with My Life

by Johnrich Villas

Well, how would I start? I was born in a big Catholic family. I remember when I was young I always join them when we go to Mass. I studied at a Christian school near PUP in elementary and lets say, required to attend Mass every Sunday. First it was just fine but when I grew older, I become bored to attend all of it. Year in and year out, always the same stories, attending Mass became a big burden for me. So when I entered high school , I fell free from all those I considered as "burdens."

Since then I started attending Mass only on my birthday (Feb. 8 ha). My mom would sometimes say Magsimba ka naman, anak!" (word for word, ano!!). It continued since third year when one member of BK (Banda Kawayan, not Burger King, hehe - dacx) invited me to this "Day of Renewal," he said he need help in the sound system (way lang pala niya yon para makasama ako). First, for me its weird, people raising their hands, bursting out words that you wouldn't understand, SHOCKS! But on that same day, I begin to ask "am I happy with my life?" Then I realized that something is missing. I see all these young men and women very happy and confident. Then I realized who is missing. God. And that's when I decided to change towards the Lord. I started joining some big events in CYA together with my friend (high school pa kami noon). So when I entered college, nag-join na ako sa CYA!

Since then the Lord has been patient in guiding me to the right path. I would like to thank and honor also all those brothers and sister who've help me to know the Lord better. The Lord has blessed me with things that I know lot of young people aspires. And with all those blessings I will give back the glory and praises to our Lord Jesus Christ. I know the journey is still long but only one thing is for sure, "For great His love towards us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!" God bless you all and have a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!!!
