As the sun went down on the first full day of Spring, 2004, we see the glow of the light dancing off the new almond
vinyl siding! It almost makes the vinyl look like a sunny yellow. An added bonus, or happy accident if you ask me!
All that is left is the siding on the peak over the door, on the chimney and a little siding on one side of
the house. They also need to put the lights and electrical boxes back where they belong, too.
As I stood taking photos, I looked around and felt very good about what we have accomplished so far. The Sharper Homes contractor, Doug, came by twice today and was so complimentary. He told me more than once that I "nailed it" (contractors terms..HA!) and that he felt the door was totally prominent now. That was my main objective! I really REALLY wanted to be able to tell that the house had a front door. Before, I felt that no one could find it since it blended in with the rest of the house and was hidden because it sits back into the porch.
If I could have taken a night photo, you would see the soft glow of lights that now bathes the front porch making it stand out at night, too.
Here you can see the "pink" peak that Bob had painted years ago. As they pulled off the siding, this was found underneath.
Now you know what the neighbors were laughing about back then. He was quite the talk of the neighborhood! That is one of the things that will be fixed tomorrow. (oh, and the garage door is still gray, but that will have to get a coat of paint on a warm day).
Here is how we look next to our neighbors. We hope that while we may be a shorter house than those next to us, we can still hold our weight in curb appeal.
