Bienvenidos

It took a few weeks to come in, but we now have a beautiful new front door. We "hired" the same contractor that did the brick to install the front door, but I only saw him step in for occassional help/advice for Bob. I only saw Bob work on the installation of the door. The contractor stayed on the porch and did other necessary work, but I had hoped that Bob could get a break and not have to do too much. This contractor seems to have a few quirks. He never shows up when he says he will, and he has Bob doing a lot more than I expected. Bob is happy, of course, that he can be so involved... but I wanted Bob to have more rest. I guess it's all as it should be. Bob never has been good at holding still.

After this, we have a situation with our contractor. The second contractor is about to start his part of our remodelling. Contractor number 2 wants to install something that the brick contractor had planned on installing. We decide to let the second contractor have the installation and our first contractor gets really upset. Even though I offer to pay him for an installation he won't have to do (after all we did sign a contract saying we would pay him), he turns his back on me and refuses to speak to me. He ONLY wants to speak to Bob. He won't discuss anything, walks away as I am talking to him, gets in his truck, drives off and calls Bob. I called Bob first, and gave Bob a "heads up" so he was prepared when the phone call from that contractor came moments later.

This marks the end of this contractors days with us. We had planned to use him in phase two of our big plans, and now we have to find someone else. That is disappointing. He was a great guy at first, but I can't work with someone who treats women as if they are second class citizens. Bob was really upset when he found out exactly what happened.
