They showed up just as I was leaving to take Skylar to school and myself to work. Their truck died in the driveway right behind my car ~and~ not one of them spoke english. They do, however, appear to be very kind people. Someone said they are Korean, and there were about six of them. Before I left this morning, I made a terrible attempt at some version of sign language. I clumsily pointed to a box of wrap we had purchased and then motioned to a corner we had already covered, then gave the "around the world" gesture (my way of saying wrap this around every corner of the house).. and they nodded politely and smiled a lot. I guess we shouldn't team up for charades any time soon. After I got home, it was clear they did understand me to a point... and the stuff was applied to the proper places, but there are some other questionable things. One is, where did the dryer vent go? It was there when I went out this morning...
And my daughter came into her room after school wondering who took all her things off of her shelves. It turns out that the guys are hammering so hard that nothing can stay on the walls on the other side. We quickly ran through the house removing things from walls and shelves in an attempt to save them.
And guess what.. they aren't done yet.
