If your son is a continuing scout, meaning he was a wolf scout last year, he only needs to purchase the handbook, slide, neckerchief and hat (optional). Bear scouts should own or purchase the following items: Cub Scout shirt (blue) - A short sleeve shirt is recommended. In the colder months, your son can always wear a long sleeve shirt beneath the short sleeve shirt. At the Keystone Council store, short sleeve cub scout shirts cost $21.80, while long sleeve shirts cost $25.55. Scout Pants - If your son is wearing the blue cub scout shirt, neat blue jeans or pants are usually worn. In warmer weather, blue shorts are acceptable. This pack does not require boys to wear the official blue uniform pants. However, shorts are available at a cost of $24.95. Bear Handbook - The handbook costs $4.95. Bear Hat - This hat is optional, however, most boys have one. The hat costs $11.50. Bear Neckerchief - The neckerchief costs $4.40. Bear Slide - The slide costs $2.20. Cub Scout belt and buckle - The belt is optional but most boys purchase one, especially as they earn belt loops as part of the Cub Scout Sports and Academics Program. A small belt costs $6.15, while a large costs $8.45. Keystone Area Council shoulder patch and numbers for Pack 190 - The Keystone Area Council shoulder patch costs $2.00. Numbers for Pack 190 costs $.80 each (three are needed for 1, 9 and 0). Prices above are effective Aug 9, 2002.
