National Summertime Pack Award Activities 2005: To be eligible for the Summer Activities pin, a cub must attend one activity each month during June, July and August. If a scout attends one of the summer camps listed below, he can use that as a wildcard for a monthly summer activity. All Cubs must be accompanied by a parent or have made prior arrangements with another parent for the responsibility of your child. Please wear your uniform or pack T-shirt for all activities. To be eligible for the Summer Activities Sunshine Pin, a Cub must attend one activity each month during June, July and August. PLEASE NOTE! All parents are encourage to accompany their Cub Scout, it is Pack Policy that each parent is responsible for getting their child to and from our Summer Time Activities and that we maintain a 1 to 1 ratio of parents to scouts. Additional all our Summer Time Activities and Fall Picnic are considered Family Events and everyone from the Scout’s family is welcome to attend, not just the Parent and the Scout, get little brothers a taste of Scouting and bring along the Scout’s sister, Grandparents, etc. for a fun learning experience. Please have the Scout wear his uniform or Pack 190 tee shirt for all activities. JUNE:Meet at old Giant parking lot near Country Market for those who wish to caravan. We will depart at 1:00 and proceed to the Visitors Center. The hike will leave the Visitors Center at 2:00 PM. At the visitors center you may purchase the Heritage Trail booklet (optional). This is one of the four points in the Heritage Trail set of patches. Please carry water, wear comfortable shoes, pack a snack if desired, bug repellant/sun tan lotion. Contact Jean Rush if you plan to attend to get a general ides of number of participants. Sunday June 26 Rocket Launch and Picnic Fisher ParkMeet at the pavilion at 2:00 bring your rocket and a picnic lunch. If you do not have a rocket and would like to participate the kits can be purchased locally. Contact Jean Rush for information. JULY:Meet at City Island-Riverside Stadium-Game Time 6:05 get there early. The parking on City Island is limited. It is highly recommended to leave the game during the 9th inning to return to your vehicle and get camping gear as the field fills up quickly with campers. A baseball movie will be shown in the outfield after the fire works. Registration forms will be available at the May pack meeting. Payment for the game and campout must be received by May 20th. Tickets can be picked up at my home after May 27th. FYI Wear dark clothing it deters the may flies Saturday July 23 Nature Walk Spoutwood FarmsMeet at the old Giant parking lot to caravan to York County at 1:00. The presenter will guide us through the Nature area from 2:00-4:00. We will be learning about different vegetation in the area along streams, swamps and woodlands. Cost 5.00 per scout. Directions: 83S to Exit 8 Rt. 216. Left onto Pierceville Rd. 8 miles to fork in Rd. bear left .5 miles to Farm. AUGUST:120 South Market Street 697-5111 during the Mechanicsburg Antique & Classic Car street fair 9:00-4:00 pm, setup and cleanup crews will also be needed before and after sale times, details and signup for sale times to be announced by email Join Pack 190 for an afternoon of fishing in the Pond at Messiah Village at 4:00. This pond holds an abundance of fish! Bring a Picnic lunch for a relaxing afternoon by the water. Due to fishing regulations fish must be released after catching them. Directions: Turn into the main entrance to Messiah Village off of Mt Allen Dr. Turn right at Stop sign. After passing the over hang look for a parking spot to the right.. Walk down the road to the right side of the building when the road starts to bend to the left the Pond is on the right. 2006 at a Glance January: Tubing and snowmaking. We will meet at Ski Round Top for a few hours of tubing. There will also be a guided tour explaining how snow is made on the mountain! February: Hershey Bears Game Receive a free pass to Hershey Park with the purchase of a ticket Pack 190 Camping 2005: Partner and Pal Weekend – June 17 to 19, 2005 Webelos I Resident Camp – June 19 to 23, 2005 Partner and Pal Weekend – June 24 to 26, 2005 Twilight Camp - July 25 to 29, 2005 Webelos II Resident Camp – August 7 to 11, 2005 Partner and Pal Weekend – August 12 to 14, 2005 Fall Camp – November. Requirements for Weekends or Camps – Personal Health and Medical Record forms (class 1 only) are required for both scout and partner.
