Cub Scout Leader Training:

Each leader should have the following training:

• New Leader Essentials (for all Leaders), and

• Position Specific Training (for the position you hold).

Also helpful are:

• Youth Protection Training, and

• Health and Safety Training.

Advancement:

We try to help the boys earn their rank badge (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos) in time for the Blue and Gold banquet in February.  You can help by incorporating some of the requirements in your den meetings, by reminding the parents of items the boys should do at home, and by monitoring each boy's progress.

Committee Meetings:

It is very important to have your den represented at the monthly committee meetings.  These meetings decide the course for the pack, and we need each den's input.  NOTE:  the Den Leader does not personally have to attend the committee meetings.  An Assistant Den Leader may attend, or a parent of one of the boys.  Ask for help!

Materials:

Each leader should have the following items.  If you do not, contact the Pack Librarian to get copies.  The Pack will purchase these items for you:

• Leaders Manual for Cub Scouts or Webelos (can be shared between Leader and Assistant),

• Leader’s How To Manual  (can be shared between leader and assistant ),

• Wall chart for Scout Advancement

• Cub Scout Record Forms

• Sports & Academics book (the den leader and assistant den leader should have separate copies) plus copies for all den members

• Local Tour Permit form  (the den leader and assistant den leader should have separate copies)

• Guide to Safe Scouting - No. 34416C per the local tour permit application  (can be shared between den leader and assistant den leader)

• Program Helps for current year (can be shared between den leader and assistant den leader)

• Cub Scout Poster with scout promise and Law of the Pack (can be shared between den leader and assistant den  leader).
