Committee Meeting

Thursday, July 22, 2004

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 PM at St. Paul’s.  In attendance were:  Dave B, Jennifer C, Kevin P, Glen R and Sherry S.

Secretary's report:  No report.

Treasurer's report:  Sandy has made contact with Chris to discuss the transition.

Old Business

Bike Rodeo 12 scouts were in attendance. They had a good time.

Partner and Pal Weekend:  Nice time. Suggestion was made to have more coordination among the scouts to allow dens to attend the same weekend.

Webelos Camp:  Great time. Three achievements were completed.

Senators Game:  This year it was in the middle of the week so it was not as crowded as previous years.

Fall Picnic:  Jennifer will call to reserve pavilion at Fisher Park and contact Diane L to assist with games. The picnic is scheduled for September 18, 2004, from 3 PM to 7 PM.

New Business

Program Launch:  Program launch is July 31, 2004. Kathy needs to attend to get information on rechartering.

Fall Camp Activities:

  • Activities for boys to get a belt loop

  • Something nature oriented

  • A craft - suggestion for ceremonial arrows

  • Compass games

  • Fire safety

  • Bread on a stick

  • Popcorn

  • Emergency kit

  • Native American theme was suggested. Could make headdresses,  necklaces made from beads/arrowheads, chants and drumming.

  • Sports Suggestions: Glen suggested ultimate Frisbee or ultimate golf. He volunteered to organize both.

Fall Roundup:  Last year we emailed registration forms and it was successful. Glen suggested having activities in the gym to occupy the children while parents register.

Pinewood Derby:  Glen will get a building use form for the church.

T-Shirt Design Contest:  Keith agreed to raise money earlier this year, so the boys could have a Class B uniform for the contest.

Budget:  Suggestion was made to have a more detailed budget so parents can see where money is being raised and spent.

Donations:  $50 donation will be made to the Cancer Society in honor of Jackie L.

ALS Walk:  Our troop agreed to attend next year.

Hot Dog Sale:  September 19, 2004 in front of Ritter’s Hardware. We were invited to be the exclusive food vendor.

Fairy Festival:  Hot Dog sale September 11, 2004 from 10 AM – 4 PM. Sam will try to get donations for hot dogs, sausage and individual size chips. Baked goods will also be sold. Class B uniform can be worn.

Next Committee Meeting: The next committee meeting will be held at St. Paul’s on Thursday, August 5th at 7:30 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 PM.
