Committee Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM at St. Paul’s.  In attendance were:  Dave B., Jennifer C., Leslie C., Rick H., Kevin P., Kathy R., Glenn R. and Mick S..

Secretary's report: January minutes were reviewed and approved.

Treasurer's report: No treasurers report for January.

Old Business

Scout Sunday: The St. Paul’s celebration was the Sunday before the official Scout Sunday. Kevin will call and apologize for the Pack not participating. Next year we need more communication surrounding Scout Sunday. Need to send an email to the scouts to remind them that Scout Sunday is about showing appreciation for church.

Pinewood Derby: Discussed Pinewood Derby. Next year we need to secure the track with duct tape. More tools are needed in the “pit” area. Leslie suggested put tips on the website to guide new scouts. Ideas should be sent to Kevin to published on the web site.

Hershey Bears Hockey Game: Great turn out.

Blue and Gold Banquet:
·        154 possible registered
·        bring main dish and desert or salad and desert
·        Placemat Corrections: Change 2003 to 2004. Change wording of registering on your own – Dave will change.
·        Set up table at Blue and Gold Banquet for camp registration
·        Leslie recommended trying to get everyone to go to the Partner and Pal weekend.
·        Change opening ceremony to Webelos 1
·        Music:
   o Possible Mexican songs
   o Patriotic song
        o Possibly purchase maracas
   o Leslie to check with Mr. Devorick to see if there are any Spanish songs that the kids learned in school.
·        Set-up and Clean-up crews are still needed. Contact Cathy or Cindy if interested. Kevin will send an email to everyone asking for volunteers.
·        Service pins will be given out that night. All leaders, boys and assistants qualify.
·        Arrow of Light Ceremony - Discussed and approved.
·        Announcements - Leslie is still looking for a replacement. A shadow for the Pinewood Derby concession is needed.

Kevin suggested the head table eat first and begin presentation when finished. The head table should include: the Scout Master, Cub Master, speaker, Kiwanis Representative, Unit Commissioner and Committee Chair.

Packmaster: Rich needs to email Cathy about awards, to see if they can be updated. Dave suggested contacting someone who is currently using the program. Mike H.  commented they use Troop Master He suggested one person man the database. Glen will contact people who have Packmaster. Rich will email Glen information to see what he has.

New Business

Scouting for Food:
·        Running on a first come first serve basis.
·        MapQuest should be used to map out the area we will be collecting from.
·        Sharon will contact Bob B about developing areas.

Annual Calendar:
·        Needs to be discussed at the next Pack Meeting.
·        Jean Rush can be contacted if anyone has ideas for summer activities.
·        Possible Gettysburg hike.
·        Saturday June 12th is the ALS Walk

Other Business

Spring Popcorn Sale Dave suggested doing sale to be benefit scouts. Dave felt Jen could handle the account instead of treasurer. Accounts were discussed. May 15th is the popcorn distribution date. Orders are due on April 30th. It was proposed that Jen look over the information for the Spring sale.

Budget: A budget needs to be drafted and made public.

Next Committee Meeting: The next committee meeting will be held at St. Paul’s on Thursday, March 5th at 7:00 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM.
