Keeping the vinyl new

So you just dropped $200 on some new import Drum and Bass vinyl huh? Now your going to the mall with your girl/boy and you just left the vinyl in the trunk? Thats a good way to make some expensive dinner plates. There is a few rules to keeping vinyl new, so listen up before heading to the mall.

You know those lables that say "Keep away from open flame"? Well they should print on vinyl records, "Keep away from any heat!". Even in the trunk of your car or sitting in your room with the sunlight is enough to warp a record. While a warped record can still be played you'll have a very difficult time back spinning because the record will be unstable.

You know what bugs me allot, people with dirty records, Radio Shack sells some very cheap felt vinyl cleaner that get the dust out of the grooves. I was listening to my friend's record and it sounded like a mix of sandpaper and a old 8-track. Don't let this happend to you.

Also don't just stack records in a bad place! A good area to store the records would be in your room away from sunlight not under a tarp in the backyard. I got some really nice flight cases for $90 that store 125 records. You can stack the cases up for storage and the big handles make transport easy. Well, easier I should say, 125 records weight about 70lbs.
