The easist way to make
a digital recording is to use either a DAT recorder or MiniDisc recorder.
I nevered used a DAT recorder before but I do know that the price
for a good recorder is expensive, figure about $700 not including
$7 for a 90 mintue DAT tape. Since this is for the non-professional
dj I'll focus on the cheaper soluation, MiniDisc. For $180 you can
get a excellent MiniDisc player, and find great deals on blank 74
mintue MiniDisc. Just as a example my MiniDisc player is a Sharp MD-MS722,
$179 at Amazon and makes great recordings of my mixes, mp3s and even
class lectures.
Setting up to record
is very easy, just plug in the RCA plugs to the phono jack and your
set. As a added bounus you can make a MiniDisc mix recording with
your favorite cds, or record your favorite mp3 so you can listen to
them at the gym.
