I wanted to do oil painting because of one reason: watching Bob Ross' show on PBS. He made it look so easy.
So I gave it a try. *cough* I must remember to myself: practice makes perfect. I have a long way to go. :D
The latest painting I was practicing still life with our apples. ('Our' meaning my family's.) I painted a simple one with about
five apples in different poses. [Look below] My next one will be a small step higher. ;)
I thought I'd try all sorts of different paintings - landscape, seascape, still life, wildlife, etc. and see which one
I enjoy most. It seems like everything interests me!

Here's one that I painted for my Papa's birthday. He loved a
paining that my grandmother painted so much that he asked if I could copy it. I gave it a try, and here's the finished product.

My very first oil painting on canvas. I was nervous when I first applied
paint to the dry canvas. Now I have liquid white - it works wonders! I gave this one to my step mother for her birthday.
The canvas was still wet - I painted it a couple hours before I gave it!

I copied yet another painting that my grandmother
painted. Hey, I need practice! ;) This one is my favorite from all her paintings, probably because it's of our house
which used to look like it.

Now here's a still life painting of Magicland apples.
I'm interested in still life as well as landscapes. Sorry about the reflection in the glass - I guess I should have taken
it out of the frame before taking a picture of it!
