Beading

I began beading when I couldn't think of anything else to sell at our stand. I thought jewelry was something lots of people enjoy collecting, so I gave it a try. Now I'm hooked. It's fun to think up your own patterns, bead combinations, etc.

My first bracelets weren't much - some basic stretch bracelets. Then I began to read up on beading and found out that there was sub-beading-crafts. Haha, that's a new word. ;) Wire working, macrame, weaving, paper beading, looming, etc. are all crafts belonging to beading. I find loomwork the most enjoyable. :) Bracelets evolved into necklaces. Now I'm going to tackle earrings. :)

Photos

Here's some of the work that I've done:

Page: 1 | 2

Friendship bands

These are called friendship bands. They are made with embroidery floss.

Stretch bracelets

These were made using simple faceted beads, silver-tone beads (as spacers), and stretch cord. Simple yet cute.

Pink/black bracelet

I followed a pattern which I got off the Internet for this one. I used black seed beads and pink faceted beads. I really liked the look of this one.

Pastel green bracelet

I just love this color! It's a two-in-one stretch bracelet, made with all sorts of beads of coordinating colors. I was watching TV when I was working on this one and I did the most stupidest thing! It slipped from my hands and all the beads went tumbling down! What a lovely story, huh?

Pastel green bracelet

This is the back side of it. I added a pretty bow. :)

Blue stretch bracelet

Another two-in-one bracelet. I didn't add a bow and I used different beads.

Yellow/green diamond weave bracelet

Another pattern which I got off the Internet. It's like a diamond weave made with bugle and seed beads.

Macrame necklace

I used a macram technique for this one and added a pretty glass bead in the center.

Floating illusion necklace

I apologize for the quality of this photo. This isn't the real color. Anyway, I strung matching beads and stabilized them with crimp beads. I try to make certain that the space between each bead is even, but I fail sometimes!

Holy Spirit pin

I used a pin and a wooden shape for the pendant.

Safety-pin bracelet

The ol' safety pin bracelet! These are so neat - to me, anyway. I used gold-tone safety pins with pastel colored beads. I made another one, which I still have, that has iris colored beads. The latter is my favorite -- I need to get a photo of that one!

Glass bead chain necklace

This one is so neat. I used cable chain and just added the glass beads using headpins.
