Fort Dodge Tecmo Bowl League

League Rules
(revised: August 13th, 2004)

1. Throwing to play-picked covered wr’s is legal. But only twice a game. And never on 4th down, or from inside the opponents 10 yard line, as TD’s on play-picks are strictly prohibited. Washington and Minnesota are allowed 3 as their offenses suck.
1.1. In the event that a player throws to a covered WR for a 3rd time then they must take a sack back at the original line of scrimmage on the next play, and will lose that down. In the event that a player throws a pass to a covered wide receiver on 4th down, and the ball is intercepted, it is a live ball and may be returned. This is done to prevent teams from using repeated passes to near-uncover-able routes such as Hershel Walker’s curl route, or Roger Craig’s slant route.
1.2. In the event that the pass was not intercepted, and the wide receiver catches and gets the 1st down, then on the next play you announce what pass you are picking and the defender chooses the same pass play, then once the ball is intercepted it become dead and you must be tackled.
1.3. No passing to inexplicabley wide-open Bill Brooks when Pass 1 has been called against Indy. The quarterback can however pass to the receiver the human defender is assigned to cover if the defender leaves him open on a playcalled play.

2. QB running is legal. Until there is a clamoring from the league members to outlaw it, it will remain legal, or we will set a specific amount of times you can run.

3. Running is legal on play-picks. In the event that the opponent picks your play, regardless of down, you may try to get the first down via a running play, or QB scramble. This includes 4th downs and plays inside the opponents 10 yard-line, since it is much harder to run against a play-pick.

4. On FG attempts, you may only use the LB position player to try and block the kick. However on extra point attempts, you can use any player you like.

Guy in the red box only on FG attempts.

5. In the event that we suffer a game freeze or the game itself gets shut off, then we will try to recreate the game to the best of our abilities to the same score and time that the problem occurred. The only exception to this rule is that if both players decide that they want to start the game over. This must be a majority decision though, and both players must agree to the start-over.

6. Play each and very game like a true Tecmo Bowl Champion, and have fun!
