A weekday evening event held to introduce the neighbourhood to the Gordon House, the tree by-law issue and to acquaint community environmental and heritage groups with each other and community members. |
| August 27, 1998 | Community Lawn
and Garden Sale |
| What ? No picture?
We must have sold it! |
What a way to bring people in. 25 vendors drew crowds. Hundreds of people signed our petitions and learned about the issues. This event was such a success we held another one two weeks later, and met a comedian shopping for props who we convinced to play MC at our coming Tree Festival ! |
| September 18, 1998 | The Lorax is here! |

A staged media event held to introduce the doomed trees growing beside the Wilcox Inn, on Front street, to the media & garner some press coverage to bring more people to the Tree Festival - coincidently held the next day at the same location. |

A community event to remember.
Hundreds of people attended to enjoy the food, music, artisans and children's events. Even Smokey the Bear showed up - although it seemed that only the older visitors could remember him! |
