Yes, and they have! Mississauga should make this pilot project a permanent part of our city's makeup.

What if a tree is sick or dying? Do I have to wait until it falls and caves in my roof before I take action? This is my property. I paid for it & I keep paying for it every year in taxes.

It is unfortunate that society does not respect trees and the importance of them to the environment. That such a bylaw is even necessary is a sad commentary to our society.

People move onto our street, cut down trees, then move away. Why should transients have the right to permanently change our neighbourhood?

The respect our society shows towards its trees and the microcosms of life they harbour reflects how we value life in all it forms.

Mississauga should be ashamed that they do not already have a by-law to protect trees on private property. This is the 21st century!!!
