The longest branched tree, a 550 year old Banyan called
Thimmamma Marrimanu grows in India.
Its canopy covers 5.2 acres
- an area the size of more than six football fields . . . .

Cawthra Road

This stout Maple on the South west corner
of Cawthra Road and Atwater, fills the sky
with a spectacular cloud of crimson every fall.

Cawthra Bush

I send you,
the flying tree - in winter.

At the Cawthra Bush, a tree has
fallen into the fork of another,
so if a tree falls in the forest and
doesn't hit the ground,
has it fallen?

29 Mississauga Road

A century old Norway Maple, this tree
protected us from the roar and stench
of traffic on Mississauga Road.

Its branches seemed to reach to the sky.
They provided homes to nesting squirrels,
blue jays and starlings.

A dense canopy of leaves crowned the
twisted sinews of the trunk and sheltered
us from the scorching sun in its shimmering
screen of brilliant green.
