- UKRAINE IS A EUROPEAN COUNTRY
located on the far eastern edge of Europe. Part of the former Soviet
Union, it was and continues to be ‘The Breadbasket of Eastern Europe’.
The capital, Kiev, is beautiful, clean, cosmopolitan and safe for
foreigners. The countryside includes mile upon mile of fields of wheat,
corn and sunflowers, dotted with small villages where horses and carts
abound. Unhappily the standard of living is very low for some people,
and these parents find they cannot provide for their children. The
government provides for these children and ensures that their needs are
well met.
- THE PROCEDURES FOR ADOPTION FROM UKRAINE ARE CLEAR AND THE VARIOUS
STEPS TAKE PLACE VERY QUICKLY.
Adoptions are made with the assistance of a facilitator, not an agency,
which saves thousands of dollars. The facilitators support and assist
the parents, but parents stay in control of the process and the speed of
the adoption stays in the hands of the parents. We manage the various
steps and process the documentation. We guide and assist parents in
every way possible to ensure that their adoption is the wonderful event
it should be.
- PARENTS CHOOSE THEIR CHILD.
We will go with you, the parents, to the Adoption Committee offices
where you will be shown photographs and given information about children
of the sex and age group you wish to adopt. Children can be from
orphanages in Kiev or anywhere in the regions of Ukraine. We then go
together, with you the parents, to visit those children. If you decide
the children offered are not right for you, then we go back to the
offices for another ‘round. It’s a little time-consuming, but this
procedure ensures that ‘connection’ between parent and child. No one
knows why exactly that one specific child appeals to a parent – but the
chemistry exists, Ukraine recognises it, and allows you to decide for
yourself which child should become a member of your family.

pride in their past.

- The people you will work with are all good, decent caring people who
want these children to have families and homes and a good future with
you.
- OUR PROGRAM IS PROVEN.
We know what we’re doing and work carefully, methodically and
knowledgeably. The Ukrainian government has provided a straight-forward
and clear adoption process. We feel privileged to be a part of it.
- BOTH PARENTS MUST TRAVEL.
This might seem at first to be a drawback. It’s not. This requirement
means that you are assured to find a child that both of you feel
‘connects’. A child is a family affair – it takes two to create a child
and we heartily agree with the Ukrainian Government that both parents
must be here. After the choice has been made and the initial court
attendance has been made, one of the parents is free to go home, while
the other remains with us in Kiev. Most adoptions are completed in
between two and three weeks.
- SINGLE PARENTS.
The
Ukrainian Government recognizes that if you have the courage, the desire
and the means to be a single parent, then you also must be granted the
responsibility to make the choice of child or children, on your own.
