The Cagayan de Oro - Misamis Oriental Football Association (CMOFA) is the official football

is a member in good standing. PFF is a member of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), Asean Football
Federation (AFF), Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Federation International Football Association (FIFA).
CMOFA grew from the previous football organizations in the area called the Misamis Oriental Football Association (MOFA) and Northern Mindanao Football Association (NORMIFA). Previous presidents
and general secretaries include : DR. JOSE OBENZA, President; ______________, GenSec (MOFA), ALLEN SYPICO,

In 1995, The Golden Friendship Football Association (GOFFA) was organized led by football players

Abellanosa as President. It came up with its own football programs aimed at providing football activities
and opportunities. GOFFA was never recognized by PFF but was regularly advised by then Chris Monfort, as
the General Secretary of PFF to work within CMOFA. Efforts to unite with CMOFA were pursued by PFF officials,
especially VP Mari Martinez who initiated two meetings attended by Aberilla of CMOFA and Abellanosa of GOFFA.
In 2001, after the death of President Manuel Aberilla, ROLANDO ROMBLON was elected as the new
president of CMOFA. President Romblon and President Abellanosa agreed to unify, with GOFFA to become one
of the football clubs affiliated with CMOFA. The officers and board of new CMOFA was reorganized with
Abellanosa as new General Secretary. President Romblon also appointed active members to become board
members replacing the inactive ones.
