...continuation, CMOFA Brief History

During the 1st PFF Congress in December 2001, President Romblon and new Gen Sec Abelllanosa attended the meeting and actively participated in the deliberations. They were able to arrange a visit by PFF President Adad to Cagayan de Oro to inspect prospective site of football office. In 2003, a dream come true for CMOFA. A new air conditioned football administration office referred to as "PFF REGIONAL FOOTBALL CENTER" complete with facilities for training, seminar and office equipments was constructed at Pelaez Sports Complex. The new building is part of FIFA GOAL PROJECT of FIFA President Blatter and implemented through PFF President Rene Adad and in partnership with the Governor Antonio Calingin of the Province of Misamis Oriental. CMOFA Project Consultant Engr. Jimbo Chaves designed an office which was accepted by PFF as the official design of football administrative offices all over the country.

CMOFA today has regular football programs for all acceptable age. It conducts regular once a week - two hours free training for children beetween 6-15 years old under the City Sports Development called Advance Scientific System Efficiency Training (ASSET); Handles PFF KASIBULAN / Adidas Predators Cup in coordination with Department of Education (DepEd), a one day free football festival for children between 6-12 years old; And every summer the Milo Football Clinic 6-15 years old.

Premier Leagues: The every weekend, whole year round, four conferences CMOFA INTER-CLUB FOOTBALL LEAGUE for Open, U19, U16 (11 aside) and Above 35, Women U19 & U16 (7 aside) is the main and premier football elite program of the association. CMOFA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE for U14, U12, U10 & U8 (7 aside and 4 aside) is the premier developmental program of the association designed to give more fun and game exposure to children.

In between the regular leagues, CMOFA Sponsors football festivals and marathons for U10, U12, U14, U16, U19, OPEN, WOMENS and ABOVE 35 under different formats like Street Football (3v3), Beach Football (4v4), Indoor Futsal (5v5) and 7 Aside. CMOFA also manages PFF Tournaments like Coke Go for Goal (U16-11 aside), Adidas Lightning Football Festival (U12, U16, U19, WOMENS, OPEN - 7 Aside), Red Ribbon Bakeshop Football Festival (U14-11 aside), Chris Monfort Cup (All levels-7 Aside).

In tournaments, CMOFA participates in PFF's Provincial and Regional U16 (Coke Go for Goal), National Under 19, Regional and National Men's Finals and soon in National Women's. LGU, PSC or DepEd programs are also attended like Mindanao Games (Open), Batang Pinoy (U12), Palarong Pambansa (U12 & HS).

At the beginning of 2003, new articles of incorporation and by-laws of CMOFA was also adopted introducing the "CLUB SYSTEM."

CMOFA moves forward with more challenges ahead and hopes more volunteers will come along "for the love of the game". (Gen Sec 2003).
