Selecting a club

The natural tendency for people new to the game, and indeed for the more experienced player at the first game with a new version, is to select their local club, or whatever club they support or are very familiar with. This is a good start point for anybody as you will be dealing with a club and players that are known to you, provided you are playing with real players. For anyone totally new to the game the best route is to take on a decent Premier club. The urge to prove just how good you are at the game can only be satisfied by working with an unknown club in a league that is strange to you.

There is nothing like the sense of achievement you get from managing a relatively unknown club, usually from the lowest possible league available, and taking it to the heights of top class European or World football.

One of the most important things to take into account when selecting a club is the chairman. He can have a good or bad effect on your career after you join his club. Looking at the Chairman will give you his profile revealing some aspects of his character and skills as the boss of the club.

To summarise your actions in deciding which club to manage, look at the squad, do look at the Chairman and the Finances. They are the best indictors as to what to expect with a club.
