| Player Instructions: Now, the individual player instructions are unique in tactics and by what you choose your players to do here is the difference between winning and losing, as putting a player on something he cant do wont go down to well, so here you can find what each means plus more. Passing: Here you can select what type of passing that player should do. I normally always keep it on the team passing i selected in the team instructions, but sometimes if i have a good player with a high passing attribute, i sometimes select him to short passing as you know he will be able to pull it off and be accurate as well, but i would suggest just keeping it to team. Tackling: Again, here you can select what type of tackling this player can make and again i normally just leave it on team. If i was going to tinker with it, it would be if a player was on a yellow card or he was due for a suspension if he got one more booking. But even then it doesn't guarantee he wont be booked, so doing this in the last 10mins when you are winning a match is better as on soft tackling, im sure he can go 10mins without being booked:). Pressing: This i always leave to team for a start of a match as i like all my players to press the opposition, but during the end of a match, if i am winning, i will turn it off on some players who are getting tired. Set Pieces (A): This is where you decide if the player should go forward when you have a attacking free kick. Now, this depends on what position the player is playing in, but myself normally stick everyone forward bar the full backs who stay back. Set Pieces (D): This is where you decide what players come back and defend when you are defending a free kick. I normally stick everyone back bar one striker and one midfielder, whom i position between each other to counter attack the free kick if i win the ball back. Free Role: This instruction is normally reserved for AMC players who have high stats in nearly all places and would be commutable anywhere on the pitch. It means that the player can 'float' around the pitch and try to always be where the ball is. Obviously this means that the player has to be the star player in your team. Foward Runs: This means that the player can make foward runs when you are in position of the ball, and make themselves available. Now, putting this instruction on a centre back isn't advisable:), but i normally stick it on all players apart from the central defenders, and sometimes one central midfielder or DMC player. Run With Ball: This option is normally reserved for wingers and AMC players, and sometimes other positions if the player has a very high dribbling attribute, but i would recommend sticking this instruction on wide men and AMC players only. It means they will run at the defence if the chance arises. Hold Up Ball: This is one attribute i only ever use for one position, and that's if i have a DMC player playing in front of the defence. If he has a high strength rating, it can be effective as he can hold up the ball and wait for other players o get into good attacking positions before releasing it. Long Shots: If you have a player with a high long shots and finishing attribute, this can be very effective. Personally i only stick it on a AMC player as not too often do long shots go in and the opportunities could have been made to better use, so i would recommend sticking just the one player on this so you always have a little chance then of one going in. Try Through Balls: This is a excellent player instruction, one which i stick on all my midfielders and AMC players. It means that when in possession of the ball, if they see a opening for a attacker they will try a through ball and is very effective. If a midfielder has a low decision or passing attribute though, i wouldn't normally stick him on this as he would probably waste it every time he got the ball. Cross Ball: This instruction i only stick on my wingers, but could also be effective for full backs depending on how attacking your style is, but it is mainly used for wingers who, if a decent opportunity arises, will attempt to cross the ball into the box, very effective. Make sure the player has a good crossing attribute though. Marking: This instruction should be set to man for your two central defenders, and none for the wingers and strikers, although sometimes you should stick wingers on zonal, as i do but it does stop them getting foward more. Every other player you should set it to zonal, unless your going to man mark a key man in the oppositions team. |
